The featherweight iBook computer defines mobility - don't let your case weigh it down. Manufactured exclusively for Apple by Brenthaven, the Mobility 1 is designed around the 12"/14" iBook and features the same care and exquisite craftsmanship that has earned Brenthaven the reputation as the industry leader in carrying case technology. The case is topped off with Brenthaven's easy-grip handle and adjustable shoulder strap that is designed to ride comfortably on a shoulder. 2-0 out of 5 stars Brenthaven Mobility 1 Laptop Bag - Underwhelmed Me!
I got this bag for my 14" iBook. I'm a fan of quality and love well made products. I looked at Brenthaven's website and decided they were all about quality and that the $80 price for the Mobility 1 was well justified.

I was wrong. First I will concede that this bag is made with good materials, built to hold up to heavy use, and does in fact shield a laptop very well. HOWEVER, at $80 there are some serious design flaws that keep this bag from being really cool.
1. Bag is perpetually lopsided. When loaded with a laptop this thing will never stand up on a table top (flat surface) etc.
2. With this lopsided-ness the carrying handle becomes twisted in your hand whenever you use it. It's too thin and flimsy.
3. Now put the bag on your shoulder and it's still lopsided, but if you're talented you can make it work.
4. You can't remove the shoulder strap, and it doesn't have "swivel" hardware to keep it from getting all twisted up.
5. The front strap that holds the clasp for closing the front flap of the bag is not adjustable. This means if the bag isn't stuffed full the front flap can't be cinched tight. This adds even more to the bag's lopsidedness.

It appears Brenthaven rushed this bag to market in response to Apple's request for a small laptop bag. While it will protect your machine, you'll soon be pestered by its many design flaws. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great companion for your iPod Shuffle
This is an excellent way to recharge your Shuffle away from the computer in a hassle free manner. Just plug it into the wall and you are done, no wires. The plug also folds in for easy storage, just like any other Apple or Canon Elph charger.

Say you ran out charge in the gym or in a non-tech-savvy friend's house, just pull this out of your bag and ready to go in a few minutes!

It can also be used to charge any other device which has a USB recharging capability. I have tested in on Palmone's Zire PDA so far and it works great. I am already looking for a USB cable for my Sony Ericsson phone. A possible to solution to mutiple chargers on your next trip.

Maybe a little bit overpriced but it still is affordably priced. Nice addition to your iPod Shuffle!

4-0 out of 5 stars I finally got it right
I confess it took me a while to get the hang of these little guys, that's why I'm giving them 4 stars only. Having tried my friends original headphones and realizing they were very unconfortable and actually hurt my ears after wearing them for a while, I decided to buy the in-ear Apple headphones when I first got my ipod. At first I tried the medium and the small ear caps since I don't have particularly big ears, but as it has been mentioned before I only managed to get them stay into place when I wasn't moving, excercising or chewing! To my surprise when I tried the large size caps they stayed in my ears even when jogging! What a delight! I'm no sound electronics expert or anything, just a regular music lover, and I must say that with these headphones I have discovered sounds in my favourite songs that I didn't even know were there! A little tricky at first but in the end, a satisfying purchase.

5-0 out of 5 stars Baloney, these earphones are terrific!
I've got 15 sets of headphones and earphones surrounding me as I write this, and the iPod in-ear phones blow away all of the ear buds and most of the headphones.

They're probably only 4 or 4.5 stars, but I gave 'em 5 to offset the 1-star reviews. Maybe these guys got pre-production phones or had problems with them; mine are excellent. The only complaint I agree with is that cord sounds are transmitted to your ears, so you have to take extra care positioning the cord. But I'd rather have that than having ear buds jiggle when I run or even walk down stairs.

Regarding the tone, they're much flatter in frequency response than ear buds. The lows are not exaggerated, and the highs are very articulate--the ear bud fans probably never heard the highs from their iPods before. They sound very much like my Sennheiser HD 280 Pro phones.

2-0 out of 5 stars There OK
well the sound is clear and pretty-comfortble, but if you have a ipod and the headphones that came w/ it are a hole lot better, The "IN-ear headphones" dont have bass, only a little bit of bass, so it would rate the "IN-ear headphones" 2 out of 5 and the ones that came with the ipod 5 out of 5 (they are just a little big or small (differs on ear size) (of course). so dont get them, if you dont care about bass and all that junt then i guess u might want then

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Fit!!
This are the only earphones that fit in my ears. I love the sound of them and I would highly recommend them.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not On My Wish List

5-0 out of 5 stars Does everything I want and looks coooool . . . .
I love running with my shuffle in this case, and can't imagine that anything else could get the job done so elegantly and so well.

1-0 out of 5 stars Overpriced for what it is....
One of the bad things about the Shuffle is that you really have to spend the extra money for some kind of case to protect the fragile instrument. However, this sport case is NOT the answer! The price is so high compared to other similar products that do the job just as well.I ended up getting a really nice red silicone case from a store in CA, and at under half the cost of one of these sport cases.Apple tends to make their money on the accessories that go with the products, not the products themselves. Before you spend your hard earned money on this, you should look around in stores and on the Net for other deals on better products.

5-0 out of 5 stars A lesson in design
I have been using the case for 2 weeks now, it took a long time to get it from Amazon but it was definitely worth the wait. This case is truly a thing of beauty, I can't imagine anyone putting so much thought into the design of a case for an MP3 player.I would imagine this is somthing that Gucci would have designed and sold for $300 and everyone who has seen my shuffle case has fallen in love with it.

It is a tad heavy but otherwise, it is perfection.

4-0 out of 5 stars Poor Extender Cable Quality
I LOVE my shuffle for running, because unlike any other device I have run with, it doesn't skip and it's small and lightweight. However, I HATE earbuds.Every time I try to run with the earbuds that Apple provides they fall out and I don't really like the feeling of having something in my ear.So I prefer to use my own headphones when using the shuffle. When I bought this case, I was looking for something to protect my shuffle. It does seem to be heavier than the shuffle itself, but it is essentially water-tight and makes me feel more comfortable running with my shuffle, especially in the rain. The added weight in my mind is even a plus, because it helps to anchor the shuffle when you are running. If you choose to use your own headphones with the shuffle, the case comes with an extender cable to allow you to plug in your own headphones. When I was running last week, the extender cable shorted and I was only able to hear music out of my left ear.Thinking it may be the headphones, I plugged in a separate set of headphones with the same results. Then I plugged the headphones into my shuffle and could hear out of both ears.Deciding it was the extender cable, I took the case to the Apple Store and they gave me a new one even though I didn't have a receipt (Apple's customer service is the reason for my giving this product four stars instead of three), but the extender cable is still flimsy and I can't help but feel that it will only be a short time until this shorts out as well.Considering Apple doesn't sell these cables separately, I would recommend that you either use the earbuds that come with the shuffle to use this product (or find a set of headphones that will fit in the small hole designed for the headset) or take VERY good care of your extender cable.I only had my case for a few weeks before it broke.

4-0 out of 5 stars Perfect for Running
I bought an iPod Shuffle specifically for jogging and cycling and was a little disappointed to discover it wasn't moisture resistant. The Sports Case is a perfect, though slightly-expensive, solution. I got caught in a heavy downpourduring the last half hour of a run and continued using my iPod without a problem. Unlike other reviewers I didn't find the added weight to be a significant issue. As for the lanyard: I cut it off and tossed it the first day - no loss. The controls are easy to use and the whole thing fits neatly into a pocket or the palm of your hand. If you're going to use your Shuffle outside frequently, the money for the Sports Case is well spent.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great, but cord is way too long
They are great, the sound quality is great, and the remote is extremely handy. My one and only complaint is that the cord can become annoyingly long. It is basically the normal headphone length, doubled with a remote in the middle.

The remote is fun and handy, and works when your iPod is on hold. The play/pause turns it on and off when held down as the normal button does. It also has it's own hold button. Overall, it's great. However, I think the cord could be shorter and if the price was lower, or you could buy them for cheaper w/out the included normal headphones (and use the money to buy a different type, use the ones you have or whatever) then this would be great.

4 stars

5-0 out of 5 stars Price is set at real value
Although these may not be the best earphones, they are exceptional, especially for the price. Just about the best earphones you can get cost about $500, but if you want exceptional, but not the best, these earphones are for you. The remote, along with your ipod comes in handy if you have your ipod in your pocket, or if you have it in a case. The little remote if fun to have, because it makes it so easy to adjust the volume, and it creates joy in the user. I think that this is a good pair for $40, especially the earphones. Unless you are willin to spend $120 or more, these are the best earphones for their price.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice remote, problematic ear phones
I like the remote - it is well designed and easy to use. It features a pause/play button, track skip (forward and backward), volume, and a hold button so you don't hit the buttons by accident. Especially handy when the iPod is in its case.

The earphones sound pretty good, however, it's hard to keep them from falling out of your ear which is a shame.

Also, the white color of everything is good and bad - on one hand, it's fun because you advertise that you're using an iPod to everyone. On the other hand, it's bad for the same reason because they're so distinctive, some one may steal your iPod!

3-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic features and sound, but some problems
The remote control for iPod is inspired. I love it, and use it all the time. It's fragile, though, and I've been through two of them, working on my third, in less than two years. I had the remote in my purse, dropped my purse, and a nail polish bottle falling on the remote caused the back cover to break off. Not good.

The earphones have great, great sound, tremendous range, but... They are much too big for my ear canals. Wearing them for longer than fifteen minutes is painful. I'm investing in Sony earbuds for this reason. They tend to fit smaller ear canals better, and the EX-71SLB Fontopias definitely fit better, with their three sizes of bud covers. Can't go wrong there.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent device!
I use my IPod mini mostly at the gym. The remote is a handy little device that clips into either the mini, or full-sized IPod. The earphones produce great sound, but like so many "in-ear" devices fall out easily. Apple really needs to produce and include an "over the ear" type of headset.

The remote control has a clip so it can be attached to clothing. It is fully functional, including volume and hold switches.

Buy some decent Sony headphones, and you've got quite a good combo. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Very unimpressed
As far as getting 2 extra years of warranty and support goes, I suppose this isn't a bad package. But I felt let down by the telephone support side. I'm told that there are call centres in three countries and the one you get depends on the time you phone. I think I'll phone at a different time next time!
My iMac is only three months old but unfortunately I've had to contact AppleCare already after my Superdrive started doing something odd.
I listened to distorted music for thirty minutes before a human finally spoke to me. Sadly, their English was so poor I could barely understand a thing they said and we had to repeat ourselves over and over. After making me do things I'd already done to try to resolve the problem (obvious things), they very quickly admitted defeat and said I'd have to take my iMac to the local Apple service centre. Once there, the cure was pathetically simple and should have been diagnosed by Apple Care. If it had been, I wouldn't have had to take my machine to the repair centre.
Apple describes Apple Care as a "world class" telephone help service. I'd say it's one of the worst I've ever used in my life.
Still, it's probably worthwhile for the extra two years' warranty. Just pray you never need to call on them!

1-0 out of 5 stars Cost of Repairs
Apple just replaced the CRT (display) on my eMac under warranty. The cost without warranty would have been 486.56 dollars. This is over 50 percent of the cost of the computer! That would have been great except the CRT is still not working properly.... If you must own an Apple, you want this warranty. It is 50 dollars just to talk to AppleCare after 90 days. Me, I am going back to my Dell. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Hanging by a thread.
After 6 months of use I"ve managed to sever the tiny wire from Apple's cute little adapter with its "stowaway" prongs (believe me, no heroic effort required). So now I'm down to less than 2 hours of battery power and 6-8 hours of word-processing before tomorrow's class. Okay, it was my fault, and I"ve got enough juice left to order a new one from Amazon. No big deal. But what's this? I was expecting to spend ten-fifteen bucks! At least there are cheaper, more rugged alternatives. In this case, substance beats out style.

(The solution proved to be the SmartDisk adapter for the Powerbook Titanium. It's less compact but no less "stylish" than Apple's "portable" adapter and far more effective--no sparks from the prongs, for one thing. And it even costs less--a comparative bargain.)

1-0 out of 5 stars Warning - DO NOT BUY THIS ADAPTER
You'll hear all kinds of warnings and threats from Apple and Apple fans about buying third party adapters, but oddly enough the Apple Store sells third party adapters . . . and my Mac repair shop uses a third party adapter on their machines that costs about 40 bucks. Apple's own adapter, however, WILL break. The cord is just too cute (i.e. fragile), and if you do anything like what you're suppossed to do with a laptop (that is, if you sit with the laptop in your lap), forget it! Prepare to hand over another 100 bucks in a couple of months. I just got the iGo Juice (which Apple sells on their site) and it works fine. Further, it's actually sturdy. No, I'm not an iGo company shill. I just don't see the point of buying mediocrity because it's cute and has the little bitten apple on it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Nice power adapter.
There's no real reason to have a nice-looking power adapter, but it's more useful to have one that works. In the month that I have used the Apple iBook, I've run into no trouble with the power adapter.

As sidey writes, the cable is rather short, but with the recent power adapters, there is inclduded an extension cord, allowing for a decent amount of reach. The plug itself when with the extension cord is a three-pronged connector, but without the extension is simply a foldable box that protrudes two inches. This is annoying, especially when plugging the power cord behind a bed or some place that there is very little room.

However, with the extension cable, everything is made better. I just don't know why Apple didn't have the power adapter always attached to the extension cord, because it makes more sense, though is less "compact." The normal power connector and the extension cable are easily interchangable, though it took me some time to figure out exactly where to pull off for fear of ruining the power adapter.

It is definitely nice.

2-0 out of 5 stars Nice try, but really poor design
While the Apple power adapter looks interesting, it has some significant flaws.
1) The plug is attached directly to the adapter. This means that you have a large box sticking out of the wall and occupying real estate. IBM and Dell are both better in this respect: they have a cable that runs from the laptop to the adapter, and another that runs from the adapter to the wall. MUCH more usable.
2) The cable is WAY too short. I am constantly annoyed at the short reach of the cable. Granted, the Powerbook has an astonishing battery life, but that doesn't change the fact that adding 2-3 feet to the cable would make it a lot less frustrating and restrictive to use.
3) THEY BURN OUT FREQUENTLY. By that I mean that the cable heats up and burns through the protective sheathing. Fortunately I purchased the AppleCare plan and can get it replaced, but what a hassle.

The rest of my experience with the PowerBook has been fabulous. I love the machine, and am SO glad I switched in December. But for a company known for its design skills, I am utterly disappointed by this power cord. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Sleek, but not practical nor cheap
I think the Apple case is great if you want only a sleek genuine Apple case to hide your precious Ipod. On the other hand, The case itself is very impractical and doesn't really secure or protect anything. I have a 4th generation 40gb Ipod and I find it annoying to have to pull it out of the case to manipulate the click wheel everytime. There are better cases out there for far less money and better access to your precious cargo.

2-0 out of 5 stars be careful!
DON'T keep your baby in this carrier. It's like driving with your child in the front seat, airbag on and no seatbelt through heavy traffic. You are an accident waiting to happen. The Belkin wallet holder has much more padding but no belt holder. I haven't found the perfect holder yet but I'm still on the lookout. The ipod needs to be firmly secured with padding all around the edges, attatched to your body at all times, yet you have to be able to easily access the front of it. Get that perfect case on the market people!!

2-0 out of 5 stars Come on Apple we're paying for something better!
When I recieved my first Ipod 20gb I was really disapointed with the case that came with it. Apart from killing the Ipods good looks I dropped it twice in the first two days because of the rather weak clip. Not only was I dissapointed with the above mentioned, but I couldn't believe that Apple made a case with no protection on the corners for a product that beggs care and attention. I don't know what the statistics are but there is a good chance that if the Ipod takes a fall it will hit the corner at some point in the disaster!
When I recieved my new 40gb Ipod with the dock I couldn't believe that Apple were still sending this case out with a product of this class. Surely someone has made this complaint to the company during the last few years! I gave it a two only because the material it is made of is reasonable quality and it functions - if you dont drop it and are extremly careful when using the clip.

2-0 out of 5 stars Beware of gravity....
This is a great case, unless you turn it upside down. It's a sleeve, and doesn't have a latch or snap at the top. This may not seem like much of a problem, but then I didn't expect to be turning it upside down. Accidentally. Five feet above a tile floor. (Okay, so Apple replaced my iPod after that one. But still, it was unpleasant.)

The belt clip will only take limited abuse (as will any product). Mine broke last weekend while I was carrying too much luggage on vacation. A shoulder bag pushed too hard against the belt clip, and snapped it off.

This product works well, but if your life is at all adventurous, try another product.

4-0 out of 5 stars Handy
I use my Ipod at work, in the car, and at home, so there it moves around a lot. I like this case for when I am in and out of the car. It clips securely, protects well and is still sleek. This was a must for me when I am on the road. ... Read more
