Amazon.com Product Description PixelPure encompasses 8 different processing circuits. Among its components are: 6.2 million-pixel oversampling (for higher perceived resolution), real-speed progressive scanning (which uses additional sampling points to create smoother diagonal lines), a Magic Square algorithm (for smooth, natural color gradation), Dynamic Contrast Enhancer (for higher perceived contrast and increased color saturation), and Color Detail Enhancer (to maintain fine image detail in color-saturated areas). DLP (Digital Light Processing) technology uses an optical semiconductor, known as the Digital Micromirror Device, or DMD chip, to digitally manipulate light. The chip contains a rectangular array of up to 1.3 million microscopic mirrors, each of which measures less than one-fifth the width of a human hair. A DMD panel's micromirrors are mounted on tiny hinges that enable them to tilt either toward the light source (on) or away from it (off)--creating a light or dark pixel on the projection surface. The bit-streamed image code entering the semiconductor directs each mirror to switch on and off up to several thousand times per second, such that the mirrors can reflect pixels in up to 1,024 shades of gray. The HD2+ DLP chip ensures an ultra-clean image by filling in the dimples, or vias, in the mirrors to avoid stray light. It increases both brightness and contrast, resulting in an impressive color-corrected contrast ratio (2,200:1) at 1,100 ANSI Lumens. The set's TheaterFine HD Super Fine Pitch screen reduces the physical space between the lines on the lenticular screen, resulting in a finer, sharper, more detailed picture. Toshiba's DFine Hi-Speed VSM (velocity scan modulation) improves contrast and overall picture sharpness, while the CableClear DNR+ digital noise reduction optimizes poor NTSC signals from antenna or cable, further eliminating video noise ("snow") for a clean, crisp image. Cinema Mode circuitry (3:2 pulldown switch) identifies original film-based content from DVDs, then reassembles the frame sequence to more accurately reproduce the original 24-frame-per-second material. A 3D Y/C (4 MB, 10-bit) digital comb filter with Vertical Contour Correction helps eliminate dot crawl and color bleed and significantly reduces detail noise, seen as shimmering or flicker, in complex or intricately detailed scenes. Color temperature controls allow you to adjust white balance. The "Warm" setting reduces the color temperature to an NTSC standard 6,500 degrees Kelvin and delivers a redder image that is ideal for display in a dimly lit room. "Medium" and "Cool" provide a progressively bluer image for the best picture as room light levels are increased. The 46HM84 has plenty of inputs for connecting all your audio and video components. In back you'll find two RF, two composite video, two S-video, and two HD ColorStream component video, as well as an HDMI digital input. HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is an uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface that supports standard, enhanced, or high-definition video, plus 8-channel digital audio--all on a single cable. A set of front composite and S-video inputs make hooking up a game console or camcorder a snap. Other features include HD Window dual-tuner POP (picture-on-picture) with PIP sound for listening to two programs simultaneously, the new Radiance DC lamp with high brightness and lower power modes for extended life, individual audio/video settings by input type, sleep and wake timers, Real Speed progressive scanning to create smoother diagonal lines, Color Transient Improver for sharp transitions on color changes without bleeding, and Color Detail Enhancer to maintain fine image detail in color saturated areas. Aside from the 20-watts-per-channel stereo speaker system, the 46HM84 uses MTS for programming with stereo sound, SAP for receiving a second audio track in another language. Meanwhile, SRS WOW combines 3D Sound (simulated surround sound from any stereo audio) with TruBass (yet another low-frequency enhancement) and Focus (which clarifies voices). The StableSound volume leveler eliminates drastic volume spikes while changing channels or when channels go to a commercial break. What's in the Box Features

Amazon.com Product Description Improving upon standard interlaced signals (like those from DVD player, cable box, and VCR composite-video outputs), Toshiba's CrystalScan HDSC upconverts all signals to 1080i resolution. A 3D Y/C (4 MB, 10-bit) digital comb filter with Vertical Contour Correction ensures sharp, clean pictures from RF (older VCR, laserdisc) and composite-video signals. DFine high-speed VSM (velocity-scan modulation) also improves definition at picture edges by slowing the CRT (cathode-ray tube) beam's horizontal scanning during demanding work and speeding it up when scanning easily rendered sections, like broad dark areas. Finally, Cinema Mode (3:2 pulldown reversal) circuitry identifies original film-based content from DVDs, then reassembles the frame sequence to more accurately reproduce the original 24-frame-per-second material. As standard video amplifiers increase the gain of the video signal, video bandwidth tends to decrease. This eliminates the higher frequencies, reducing resolution. The 34HF84's wideband video amplifier maintains the higher frequencies, enabling higher resolution and greater sharpness and detail. Dual ColorStream HD component-video inputs (Y, Pr, Pb) provide the ultimate picture quality from high-resolution component-video signals (as from compatible DVD players or satellite receivers). And, with direct video input selection, you can directly select inputs from the remote's numbered keypad instead of having to scroll through all of them. Two sets of rear AV inputs and a set of front AV inputs (all including S-video) foster easy connection with a camcorder or gaming console, and a rear AV output lets you hook the set up with a surround receiver. The set's stereo speakers are powered by 10 watts per channel, and SRS WOW processing combines 3D Sound (simulated surround sound from any stereo audio) with TruBass low-frequency enhancement, and Focus (which clarifies voices). HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is a lossless, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface to link any audio/video source (such as a set-top box, DVD player, or AV receiver) with your television. HDMI supports standard-definition (SD), enhanced definition (ED), or high-definition (HD) video, plus multichannel digital audio--all using a single cable. It transmits all ATSC HDTV standards and supports up to 8-channel digital audio, with bandwidth to spare to accommodate future enhancements and requirements. What's in the Box Features

Amazon.com Product Description A four-line comb filter helps eliminate dot crawl and color bleeding, enhancing fine detail, cleaning up image outlines, and removing most extraneous colors. And with LCD TVs, there's no risk of image burn-in, so you don't have to be concerned with still images on your screen. The high 500:1 contrast ratio gives you better subtle color details and the ability to see the picture in bright light conditions. Toshiba's CT-864 remote allows for immediate access to basics like channel changing and volume as well as picture and sound adjustments and input switching. And since it glows, you can do them all in low-lighting conditions. Built-in speakers (2.5 watts per channel) sit below the 4:3 aspect ratio screen, giving you full stereo sound without needing to connect to an external speaker system. News, Hall, and Theater sound modes help recreate audio environment conditions for more realistic sound reproduction. The 14DL74 isn't without its fair share of hookups, either. In addition to a standard jack for your cable or antenna feed for use with the internal 181-channel NTSC tuner, there are two rear-panel composite-video inputs as well as a rear component jack and two S-video inputs. These are perfect for connecting a VCR, camcorder, gaming system, or DVD player, letting you create a complete entertainment center in cramped quarters. There's also a mini stereo headphone jack in case you need to keep the sound to yourself. At less than 3 inches deep and just 8 pounds, this flat-panel LCD TV can easily be mounted on a wall (with an optional bracket) to keep it up and out of the way. Or use the included tilt-and-swivel stand to use on a shelf or entertainment center. What's in the Box Features

It doesn't come with a car adapter, but go on ebay and they sell them cheap.Because of the size of the screen it was hard to find a decent case because most of them will only accomidate barely 8 inches.I went to Circuit City and they sell a bag called "Targus" and this bag will do the trick.I even brought my Toshiba 2500 into the store and sized it up.Plus the bag holds extra dvd's and cables, really a good buy and I recommend picking it up because this one switches from a back-of-chair viewing to a suspension between the two front seats. If you can get your hands on this please do so.I did my homework on portable dvd players for over 6 months and I am proud to say I know I couldn't have done any better.
Not cheap - but I don't mind paying if I get results and the SDP2500 DELIVERS. Only dissatisfaction is that some of the many, many functions are only available with the remote control. You can certainly do all the basics without the remote - but need it to get fancy. We love the SDP2500, and never, never travel without it.

Amazon.com Product Description The cable modem is easy to install and connects to your PC or network hub through dual-mode USB and Ethernet interfaces. The PCX2200 is enhanced with support for up to 16 PCs running Windows or Macintosh computers. The Toshiba PCX2200 cable modem is ideal for any small office or home office environment where fast, secure, shared Internet access is a requirement. Features Reviews (17)
Even with the modem plugged in, the software can't detect the modem if you're running through a router. Doesn't seem to need the drivers, at least if you're running through an ethernet card. The installation troubleshooting guide was no help. I gave up on the software running in circles and exited. In spite of all this it still worked once I gave the cable company my MAC ID. (Software still can't detect the modem, though.) Here's the strange part. I've been running speedtests on two different computers. The Win98 computer that the modem is directly connected to runs really, really slow and doesn't come near my 1.5MB connection. My other WinXP computer that is networked through a wireless router gets nice 1.5MB transfer rates off this same modem. Go figure. I can't speculate on why one computer runs slow and another runs fast, but I can say I had a Motorola Surfboard SB5120 before this and I didn't have these problems, even when running through a router.

Battery life is very low per charge, it will stay more on the power adaptor than in use. Useless on long trips. The Windoze OS is a bad idea for handhelds. Comparing raw MHz/MB or advertized feature set is not a good idea with PDA's. (8MB on Palm OS does more than 64MB on bloated Windoze.) All the cool features look great for first few weeks and then the gadget might stay in your drawer! Easy of use, reliability, battery life and intuitive software (like a Nokia) are more important than voice recording, mp3 playback and video. Check out the "Zen of Palm" if you aren't convinced that Palm OS is much better. Toshiba support for their PDA's is horrible and build quality is poor. I think I have given enough warning to stay away from this. If you desperately want a PC in your Pocket buy an iPaq.
I've had the E355 for about 3 weeks and had recently purchased a used Cassiopeia E-125 and was very happy with that purchase as well. The reason I upgraded was because a friend of mine wanted the E-125 at the price I purchased it for and I was convinced that for ... more, I could get a faster PPC with more memory, smaller size, and upgraded OS. Now, the reason I didn't give it 5 stars is you get what you pay for. For the money, this is the best deal if you consider the reasons I mentioned previously. If I was getting a removable battery and a CF slot in addition to the SD slot, and was paying the same price, I'd rate it 5 stars. But, I'm not getting that. On a message board, I seen someone say that it would better to purchase the Dell Axim X5 (Basic) for the same price. But, the X5 Basic only has 32MB of RAM. You would need to purchase the more expensive X5 Advanced to get the same amount of RAM. Not to mention at the time, X5 users were upset about the slow speed of their OS or processors and Dell is now sending out CDs with a fix. ...
Hopefully this review will give a student a little insight into this "student" view of this.
Pros: Cons. THis is an excellent PDA is you do not need wireless internet access right away.
