Bad - stay away
Poor design; overall bad product - looks and feels cheap like any other Dell product - returned after 2 days.

From the packaging, it was obvious that this laptop was broken when it shipped. It looked like it had been dropped on its corner, the case was broken, it was difficult to open the screen and there is a loose piece of something rattling around inside. simple reliable, heavy, expandable device that runs XP just
siple, reliable, heavy device with big sharp screen....need to upgrade the paltry 128 megs of memory but it runs xp just fine as is... use it for reports at work and home but it has "play potential" with more memory..

Just ordered a linksys wireless access point for my desk top and a card for the laptop so I can cruise the net while lying in bed with my spouse while she watches her murder mysteries... that should be a gas if I get it working and apparrently some folks find it a no-brainer while others run into frustrations. I tehd to have the latter but am tenacious enough to get it set up overr a weekend. If signal strength is good, the potential pf work play outside on a chaise lounge during warm months is worth the small price of admission for this used reconditioned system. The battery only lasts about 20 minutes now but I have an outdooe ground-fault outlet near an old gazebo that is live and safe. Cannot wait !

Poorest Customer Service Ever
I needed to return a Dell computer based on their "so-called" customer satisfaction guarentee. I have now spent 3-4 hours on hold, been hung up on twice, and have talked to approximately 10 very friendly but completly unhelpful Dell customer service employees, none of which seem to speak english as a first language, who have bounced me back and forth from department to department. The only time I actually got through to the Returns Department......their computer was down! Absolutely the poorest service i've encountered in the electronics industry. BUYER BEWARE!

This laptop does not really have it all but then its dell the best CPU company there is so add accessorys and transform your dell to dell complete.

Serviceable, but missing a few 21-st century essentials
My employer provided this machine. I find it marginally acceptable, but I would not spend my own money on such a system.

Major misses:

1) It comes with the synaptics touchpad, which defaults to accepting taps as mouse clicks (it should default to the 'suppress taps')

2) Shutdown service takes too long, even for Windows 2000.

3) No option to order with Linux or without Windows, even though Dell previously touted this feature.

For everyday use, I still gravitate toward my iBook. The Latitude has inadequate USB connectivity (only 1 port), and wastes precious back panel space on a PS/2 style
keyboard/mouse port and a 25-pin parallel port.

Once you plug in a mouse, you have NO USB connectors left for a digital camera or other peripherals. This makes the latitude a niche machine for corporate environments with very specific requirements.

Kindly note that I faced two problems when I used this notebook:
1- Some Keys of the Key Board are hanging.
2- The Battery working fine and suddenly dead.

Frustrating keyboard problem
I recently purchased this and found that 3 keyes were not working at all. Checking the posts on DellTalk I quickly realized that this is a widespread problem with the Latitude CPX and that there is no fix or recall. I will return it for a refund and purchase a laptop from a different manufacturer.

Dell Latitude refurbished notebook computer.
The computer arrived in good shape in about 4 days. It was well packed, and the box and computer both contained a number of special items,e.g.,a handsome Dell carrying case,a double PC card slot with a modem card installed, an old fashioned mouse giving me a choice between the traditional notebook "mouse" and the mouse I am used to. Once I had set up the computer, I found a very helpful Dell Help book on the computer itself. ....
