2-0 out of 5 stars Not too happy!
I am not too happy with this case. The belt clip does not fit any work belt I wear. It will work fine with a dress belt, but not any kind of wide work belt. The inside of the case is full of dried glue where they glued the lining to the leather. Most of all, the ipaq will not fit in the charging cradle while it is in the case; you have to take it out of the case everytime you want to sync it to your computer or charge it. Also I don't like the pocket on the inside of the case. Anything you put in the pocket (like an sd card) presses directly on the screen. It may be safe, but I'm not going to take a chance with the screen. Searh for something better, especially at the price of this one.

4-0 out of 5 stars Exelent choice for carrying a nacked iPAC
For those who don't wear shirts with pockets or are afraid of the iPAC slipping out of the pocket and being damaged on the floor, AND who have not added any slip-on accessories, this is a great add-on. It fits the naked iPAC just perfectly with easy access to all functions except the recessed reset button on the bottom, which you hopefully won't have to use very often.

What I really like is that it has a belt clip, very much like the ones used by some of the high quality cell phones. It slips on the belt, and a "button" on the back of the case securely "snaps" into the holder. To remove the iPAC along with the case, you push a large button on the top of the belt clip and the case easily slides up and out. When you are ready to put it away, it "snaps" securely in place. Another thing I like is that I carry mine on the right side, which covers the right hand pants pocket. The case, mounted on the belt loop easily "swivels" out of the way to allow easy access to the pocket.

The only reason I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5 stars is that the portion of the belt clip where the belt slips through could have been made to more easily accomidate various belt "thicknesses". The belt I use is somewhat thick,(as opposed to "wide") but not at all uncommonly thick. The belt clip accomidates it, but just barely, and putting it on the belt is a pain, especially where the belt holes have been stretched "out" by strain on the belt by my little bit to large stomach. You have to exert some "muscle grese" to slip the clip onto and up the belt to its desired location.

I don't wear a shirt with a pocket very often, and when I do, I still prefer the iPAC holder because it is secure, there is no added weight to the shirt pocket and you don't notice the iPAC at all mounted on your belt ... even sitting down it swivels out of the way.

I use my iPAC a lot for listening to mp3's that I download. The flap on the case works beautifully to hold the earphone plug snugly in the earphone recepticle on the IPAC, something I had trouble with before I got the Rhino Case. I remove the iPAC with case frequently during the day, and the large "release" button on the belt clip works easily to release the case from its "locked" position without having to look down to the clip ... it is easily done by feel alone.

Of all the add-ons I have purchased for my iPAC, becides additional SD Memory for mp3s, the Rhino case is, by far, the most useful and, for me, essential of the lot. To top it off, it has worked flawlessly as advertised and the fit to the iPAK is perfect. Now, the question is, how long will it be before either something breaks on the belt clip, or the eye on the back of the case comes off (as so often happens with cell phones that use this same system). Once either of those events happens it will be time or order another RhinoSkin Leather Flip Case.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good fit for my IPAQ, mostly.
This was mostly a good fit for the Ipaq. It's not hard to insert and take out, but I have to push it in really hard to get the entire top of the screen to be visible in the window. But that might change after I've had it a while and it breaks in.

The post mount is a plus, since it's compatible with any Nokia phone post mount.

4-0 out of 5 stars Not too bad
Very pleased with the flip case, however think it is a bit pricey. Provides the kind of protection I need working in a manufacturing facility. Love the belt clip, and it seems sturdy enough to hold up. 5 stars if it was under 25 bucks. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Lost....
Shortly after I purchased this keyboard I installed it and used it briefly. The next time I tried to use it it failed to work, and when I try to use the "keyboard.exe" to initialize it fails to recognize it and it generates an error. When it worked it was too small for normal typing but a lot better than the on-screen keyboard. I can't even remove the drivers for it.

2-0 out of 5 stars oh dear
not bad, although not for touch typists. Biggest failing is inability to connect ipaq with expansion sleeve connected, as per other reviewer. Just has to go back to the store for that reason. I thought I might be able to 'adjust' it, but nothing doing.... Shame really 'cause for the price against the Targus, it could be a great alternative

1-0 out of 5 stars dissapointed
The keyboard was a dissapointment. The iPAQ PDA fits the keyboard but not with an expansion pack installed so it can't be used with accessories like a modem or network adapter. It can't be used for email in a hotel room. I had to take it back.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Keyboard!!! Works fine
This keyboard has made my life so much easier. I used to use my stylus all the time now you cant get me to use the stylus. The keys are just fine and I dont have any problems with them regardless of previous review. I use this on the plane and everyone around me just praises the size and the weight. My advice this is worth it for the price and the convienence.

1-0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for.
This keyboard is a major disappointment. The keys are rubbery with no tactile feedback whatsoever. Some keys require more pressure than others. If you're a touch typist, get the Targus stowaway instead. Over twice the price but there's no comparison. The split on this keyboard places the "H" key on the left side making it a long reach. Also the plastic ridge on the leading edge makes for an uncomfortable typing position as hitting the spacebar requires reaching over the lip. The connector and stand for the iPAQ is flimsy. I'd rather use the on screen keyboard or transcriber instead of this product. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Nice to have, but at a price
I ordered this battery so I could have a backup for my iPaq while travelling. It's the exact same battery that is included with the 5455. Unfortunately, it carries a hefty price tag and also some ridiculous packaging. Typical of most accessories, this battery comes sealed in molded plastic--the kind that allows it to be displayed in stores, but completely deters theft. The package was sealed so tightly with such thick plastic that I felt like I was performing serious surgery in order to extract the battery. In the process, the metal cover (wedged so tightly into the plastic) was slightly bent and required another 15 minutes of finessing to reattach it to the battery. Aside from the price and packaging, the unit performs as expected. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Fit
I've had this stylus for over a year - have no problems with the sticking/loose stylus trap thanks to this stylus. Great construction, couldn't be happier.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't buy this product
I bought this stylus expecting it to be something like the original Palm stylus. Well, it's not. It's ugly, doesn't fit well into my iPAQ and it's also overpriced.

Conclusion: Don't bother getting this. You'll be disappointed with it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not what's displayed
I ordered this product thinking (judging from the photo) that it would be an Ipaq-specific stylus. The product actually delivered has the same product name as that listed, but is, in fact, a three-in-one (pen, pencil, stylus) instrument that can be used for any PDA. Most importantly however, it is absolutely not the product advertised here. They still don't seem to have fixed this error even though I advised them of it when I returned the product. Don't buy this - it's not what you think. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Case
I have this case and it's great, it can hold my ipaq + expansion sleeves, expansion packs, credit cards and money. In short this is a great case.

2-0 out of 5 stars Lacks alot.
This case is way too small for anything. It will only hold your 'naked' iPAQ, and maybe a credit card or two. Is useless if you have any expansion packs. Would not buy again, but if I had to, I would go straight to Compaq, and get it for less.

1-0 out of 5 stars Bad designed and poor quality
When I got the case I thought it was a poor design that the snap would repeatedly drag over the top of the IR port. Then one day while putting the Ipaq in, the clip just broke off entirely! An extremely disappointing product.

1-0 out of 5 stars Broke in a week!
It looked cheap when I got it, and sure enough it broke within a week. Don't waste your time or money.

3-0 out of 5 stars Too small a sport case
While the PocketPC Sport Case is great for the unit by itself, it will not hold the PocketPC with even a CF expansion pack. The enclosed plastic grip (which holds the PocketPc) is structured for just one thing, the PocketPC by itself. If you use any expansion packs on a regular basis, this is not the case for you. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars I've use this sleeve with 2 separate iPAQs 3850 and 5555
I have a great deal of success with this sleeve. I have used it with the 3850 and the 5555. I had an initial problem with the battery not charging properly but that seemed solved with a replacement battery sent by nexian.

I did a review for the sleeve on PocketPCThoughts.com (search for my name). It's one of the main reasons I upgraded to the 5555, so that I could continue to use this sleeve with the iPAQ.

the only weird issue I've had is using both CF slots at the same time. I'm currenlty using it with slot one containing a 1Gig CF microdrive and tried using it with a D-link wireless card in slot two and the display on the 3850 went weird. haven't had that issue with the 5555 bc the 5555 has built-in wireless/bluetooth.

3-0 out of 5 stars Nexian Dual CF sleeve
Unfornately the memory cards did not work. Talking with tech support they could not determine why the memory cards failed to work. Nexian tech support told me to return the sleeve. I asked if the problem had been reported, and Nexian said that they did not hear of any issues. I have an iPAQ 3635 and Nexian said that one of support tech had the same configuration and found no issues. Tech support thought it was a pin problem, connecting the iPAQ to the sleeve. However, one positive is that the iPAQ did manage to recongize the second battery. That was really nice to have the additional battery.

The sleeve is fairly big, and you should expect a larger size since it supports two cf cards and a second battery. I thought the size was acceptable for what it was designed to do. Be careful if you have a case to carry your iPAQ as you will need to buy a new one.

Overall, I would have kept the Nexipak if the cf slots would recognize the memory cards. I did find out Nexian had a recall if you tried to use a wireless nic card. No software drivers are needed to use the sleeve. If the memory cards would have worked I would have rated the product 5 stars. I will have to wait until I get a new sleeve. Tech support did a good job of following up with me, via email and on the phone. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Gotta Get It!
My iPAQ is still so new that it's barely out of the box but this expansion pack has been of tremendous use to me already! I bought it before my iPAQ came into the store.

I find that I can't live without this product when I use it to connect to my network with the compact flash network card. I travel constantly for work and with this product and the network card....it's a breeze to keep up with information on my corporate network or internet.

I also find it useful with the CF cards for holding my ebooks that I read on the plane or delayed in the airport.

Catch that rebate while you can!

5-0 out of 5 stars Vital Addon for your new iPaq
If the iPaq has lowcomings, its the fact that it does not include an onboard compact flash slot. This expanison pack solves this problem without adding much bulk to your pocketpc. I use this expansion pack with a 96 meg CF card, a 16 meg CF card, and a 56k CF modem and it works wonders. When i take the ipaq to summer school, for example, I leave the expansion pack home to trim (some) bulk. When I go on trips or I need extra storage (CF cards are handy for ebooks and mp3s), i bring the expansion pack, and my 3 CF cards. VERY VERSATILE! Very highly recommended if you own an ipaq!

5-0 out of 5 stars the IPAQ is worthless without this
I recommend buying this and an IBM microdrive to really get the most out of your iPaq. You can then listen to hours of music or even watch movies!

Almost every plugin for the iPaq uses the CF2 standard, so unless you just want a simple PDA, buy this. Of course you don't, otherwise you would have bought a Palm, right?

5-0 out of 5 stars This is a MUST HAVE for any iPaq owner
I have used several different brands of Compact Flash memory cards on this device without any problems. This jacket does not make your iPaq any significantly bigger than an iPaq with the Style Pack attached. In fact, I find my iPaq with attached CF Expansion Pack more comfortable to hold than a bare iPaq.

5-0 out of 5 stars Battery Life
Please read my full review below. This review answers questions posted in other reviews here.

CF cards don't really impact battery life any more than using the regular memory of the iPAQ. That's because they don't have any moving parts to put extra stress on the battery.

One exception is the IBM Microdrive. This is a tiny hard drive in a CF format. Because it spins just like the hard drive on your PC, it does eat battery life. I recommend that if you want to use the IBM Microdrive, use a PC card expansion pack with a CF adaptor because the expansion pack has an extra batter. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars No support from iConcepts SAKAR website
I used this a few times, and then I upgraded the OS and had to load the drivers back on the Pocket PC. Unfortunately, I lost the disk and Sakars's website has no driver downloads for this device. So this device is useless. If anyone has the driver files which came on the disk, can you please email them to me at rachtenb@bellsouth.net.

Thanks,

2-0 out of 5 stars Finicky Thumboard
To enable the thumboard to work you must load the software to your PC and then sync. The problem I have is that I travel and periodically have to reboot the IPAQ which causes the software to be dumped from memory. Like one of the previous complaints, since iConcepts isn't "web friendly" I can't download the software so I must wait until I return home to reload...pain.

1-0 out of 5 stars Produced by a non-existent company?!
It says on the box that this product is produced by iConcepts, a branch of Sakar International. Neither of these names are googlable. There is no help no help number or website on the box. The only piece of information I can find on them after intensive search is an address in Edison, NJ.

Their obscurity wouldn't be a problem if their product actually worked, but when I plug it into my IPAQ H3800 running WinCE 3.0, it does nothing. If anyone knows any tricks to get this to work, please post it. Another major shortcoming is that it doesn't fit around an expansion pack.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not quite there.
I was somewhat disapointed by this thumb board I bought for my new iPAQ 3900 series.

It fits pretty sloppy with out the expansion case and it is VERY tight with the case on. Though it does seem to work both ways. I also felt the release mechanism on the back side was poorly designed making is fairly difficult to release to keyboard. At $ bucks you can't find a cheaper keyboard input device, but considering the cheap quality of the product I wouldn't recommend it.

I hope you find this review useful! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Not really worth the price...
Every iPAQ user I know either goes naked with the iPAQ (no sleeve at all) or used one of the *functioning* expansion packs like the phone, PC Card, or CF packs.

While these style packs come in funky (sort of funky) colours, they don't do anything, not even protect the screen. If you really, really want one, I suggest that you either spray paint the black one that came with your iPAQ, or, for less expense, glue some dollar bills to your old case. Now that would be funky.

At one tenth the price that these go for I probably won't buy one. At full price, there's just no value.

4-0 out of 5 stars Color style packs for ipaq
Fellow amozoner's,The ipaq style packs are not bad.It all depends onthe kind of style you like. The colors match the silver buttons and the exposed unit.It is also a great feature to have a matching stylis. It stands out in a good way, it looks good and it is not depressing compared to the black style pack. The Bottom line is 1.if you want to style-get it 2.if you like your style pack that you already have-dont buy it

I DO recommend it!!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Buy it until something better comes along
It's good, but not great, but then it's fairly cheap for a good quality leather case. It will NOT work with the CF or PC Card expansion pack installed, no way. I found a few things I didn't like about it. The cut away sleeve that the iPaq slides into hold it very securely, but it makes the power button very hard to reach, and the cursor pad hard to use. I finally gave up and cut out the pocket, leaving a folded leather outer cover that I velcro attached the slim "style pak" into. It hold very securely and leaves all buttons more accessible. I used a small piece of velcro tape to allow the top strap to still secure the unit from slipping out.

One possibly major problem: I use screen protectors (Fellowes 98026 Writeright for Pocket PC, available right here, buy some now-you need them) to keep the screen from scratching. Every time I put my iPaq in my pocket for a long period of time, the coarse inner lining of this case scuffs the protector so badly I have to replace it. It may or may not do the same thing to an unprotected screen, I don't know and I'm not going to find out. If this was lined with a soft flannel it would be much better.

2-0 out of 5 stars Only for covering a naked iPAQ
This case for the iPAQ 36xx Pocket PC will be suitable only for those that carry their iPAQ completely naked -- no CF expansion pack, no PC Card exapansion pack.

There have been reports of some iPAQ owners managing to stretch the leather enough to use it with the CF expansion pack, but others have reported that the increased pressure on the iPAQ itself has resulted in problems with the screen. If you do decide to use this with a CF pack, be sure you use something other than your iPAQ to stretch it. Of course, once you've done this, you can't use it to hold a pack-less device.

Overall quality of the case is pretty good. This gets a lower rating because it doesn't work with most iPAQ accessories - cradle, expansion packs, etc.

2-0 out of 5 stars Too Troublesome
It is loose for the iPaq unit by itself. You cannot put the unit with expansion pack in it. Also You must take the iPaq in and out to charge and sync with cradle. Unless you have the sync cable which does not come with the iPaq, it is so troublesome to use it. It does not offer any more protection, e.g. drop or rain, on the iPaq unit than the pouch the iPaq comes with. So, why (...) [purchase] it, I did and I still don't know.

3-0 out of 5 stars Tight fit
GOOD POINTS: 1) Fits tight - compact 2) Excellent quality BAD POINTS: 1) Must squeeze in with "style pack" 2) Does not fit with expansion pack 3) Need to "squeeze" Ipaq into and out of case to fit cradle (Like a swollen foot in a pair of loafers if you have the style pack on) which becomes an awkward daily ritual if you are on the go.

3-0 out of 5 stars Since we don't have a better choice
I had to buy this without even seeing it. Would I buy it if I saw it? Yes!

On the bad side: very thick, and the press button to close the top is not comfortable. They could have left it like the Palm V covers, that just fold. Also, you have to remove it to charge/sync using cradle. If you have the optional charger and optional sync. cable you can sync/charge without removing. They should have used Basic Style Pack type plastic case inside the leather pack to hold the iPAQ instead of leather.

On the good side: looks good, fits in the pocket, decent leather, and most of all it protects iPAQ well. I would still replace it as soon as I find a thinner and more elegant pack made for iPAQ. ... Read more
