4-0 out of 5 stars Plug and Play
This is a great expansion pack to own. Slide it on and "Tah ding" your connected and ready to go. I chose to go with this instead of the CF expansion pack because of the flexability of options. You can use 2 CF cards (with the use of CF card Adapters, it does come with 1), or 2 type II PC cards, or 1 CF card and 1 type II PC card, or 1 type III PC card. It also has a built in battery pack to extend how long you can use your iPAQ between charges. By the way if you have a charger for you iPAQ, which I'm sure you do, It will charge the battery in the pack at the same time you charge your iPAQ.

If you are looking for a compact expandable solution, this pack is "not" what your looking for. The straight truth is it's bulky. The pictures you see on the web make it look thin and are misleading. However if you don't mind the bulk I'm sure you'll reap the joys the flexibility of this unit will bring you.

The only reason I give this 4 stars out of 5 is I wish it had a screen cover built in so I could toss it in my bag when I'm on the go and not worry about anything buggering up the touch screen, or pausing the media player when I'm listening to MP3's. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Warantee gives you a new stylus
I also scoured the internet for a new stylus. The only true replacement I found at HP (amazon.com doesn't ship electronics to Canada and amazon.ca doesn't have electronics yet) for C$26. I read a post on amazon.com about getting a replacement from free simply by calling HP. I called HP Tuesday night and it arrived Thursday morning by Purolator.

1-0 out of 5 stars You don't need this if you are under warrentee
I broke my stylus and the first place I dashed to was amazon.com. I then asked myself if my machine was under warrentee. It was. I called up HP (india) and they sent me another one. The only question that they asked was if it was an accedent. I told them no and 3 days later it was on my doorstep. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Buy yourself some time.
I own the Ipaq 4155. I am using this keyboard to write this review. Set up was so simple and the layout is easy to learn. I used this keyboard to send an e-mail within 10 minutes. Much much faster than block reckognizer. I had planned on purchasing this keyboard when I first got my 4155 but delayed a coulple months and just used block reckognizer. How sorry I am that I waited. I write more e-mail and take more notes now. This is a must have accessory.

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent keyboard, not perfect
PROS:
1. The spacing between the keys and the feel of each key-press are both engineered very well and allows me to type quickly with just two thumbs
2. The keyboard fits perfectly under my h2210 -- there is no rattling, it won't detatch accidentally, and it attaches relatively easily
3. The software and hardware installation was complete in under 2 minutes
4. I haven't tested this with all programs, but the gameboy/SNES/etc emulator MorphGear allows you to map the hardware keyboard buttons to the controller buttons within the program -- this means you'll have enough hardware buttons to play SNES games

CON:
1. The thickness of the keyboard is a little more than i had expected -- it seems like it's about 1.5 times the thickness of the iPaq 2210, which destroys the sleekness of the iPaq with the keyboard attached

4-0 out of 5 stars Excellent keyboard! (but too much software interferences)
I purchased this keyboard to be used with my iPAQ 3835. I've had this keyboard for almost two months and it has worked very well--the keys are easy to press, typing speed increases as you get more used to it, and it does not add too much more to the length and thickness of the unit.

Using the numeric keys takes a little to get used to, as the num-lock key needs to be enabled and sometimes it's easy to forget to unlock it since there is no on-screen indicator. All the numbers are on the top row of the keyboard and are not laid out in a "numeric keyboard" layout. Also, for those who have previously used the Targus keyboard with their iPAQs, you need to uninstall the Targus software to allow this keyboard to work--hence, you will be unable to use your old keyboard. An added plus is that the keys and the hot-keys will not turn on your iPAQ directly, preventing accidental use.

Also, I use the pharos GPS system and the software of the keyboard also messes with the GPS software--you would need to shut off the keyboard, then do a soft-reset prior to using the GPS device.

Overall, this is an excellent piece of hardware for the iPAQ, it substitutes well for the on-screen input methods in accuracy and allows for quicker input. I would have given it 5 stars if it did not conflict with the other software programs--something that should have been considered, especially coming from HP.

5-0 out of 5 stars Handy little keyboard
I recently picked up an Ipaq 4155 and this keyboard to go along with it. I chose this over the 4355 with the built-in keyboard since the 4355 is just too large to carry around all the time.

The keyboard is as small as possible while still being easy to use, and it weighs almost nothing. Driver installation was a snap. I've had no problems with it so far.

If you are like me and could use a keyboard for your iPaq sometimes, but not all the time, go for this with the 4155 over the 4355. If you will need it the majority of the time and you dont mind the additional size, the 4355 may be a better match for you. Of course if you need a keyboard for the 2200 series this is also the way to go.

Small, easy to use, light - well worth the price.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great little keyboard
When shopping for a ppc I coudn't decided between the ipaq 4155 and the 4355. The reason being is that I didn't know if the added keyboard would be necessary. I ended up with the 4155 and the hp micro keyboard. Glad I went with this route. The keyboard is small but still big enough to type with ease and when I don't need it I can simply slip it off. What I like the most about using this keyboard with the 4155 vs the 4355 is that the keyboard actually slips over the navigation buttons so it does not make the unit that much longer like the 4355. It does make it a bit fatter though. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent product, terminator for HP's no power cradle
Very excellent product works very well with my ipaq 1935, and wokrs as both USB syn cable and battery charger. After I got this, I regreted deeply that I bought a HP cradle from OfficeDepot two months before this, which has no USB power supply function.

I strongly recommended this to any ipaq 1935 users.

5-0 out of 5 stars Three accessories in one compact unit
Works great with my iPAQ h1935 model. It charges iPAQ from any computer with available USB port.
Great value for $12. More convenient to use then the original sync cable that came with h1935 unit. Replaces your desktop charger, car charger adapter and USB sync cable. The cable has a very convenient switch(not shown on the picture) which toggles beetween charging and syncronization modes.
In comparison:
HP car charger adapter will cost you around $29
HP Desktop charger -- another $27. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Works Great
Overall I've been pretty impressed with my ipaq acccessories from iConcepts. I travel a lot and didn't want to tote around my desktop charger. Then I found this guy that charges with the USB port. I don't sync it w/ my laptop when I travel (although I should) but it charges just fine. The cable is a tad stiff, and I'm careful not to bend it

4-0 out of 5 stars Convenient But..
Very handy idea works good but connect is not secure (iPAQ 3630). On an older lap top it shuts down and pops up an error that the iPAQ was drawing too much power. All in all it beats the bulky cradle.

2-0 out of 5 stars iConcepts Hotsync Charger
Not impressed. Charged fine but the adapter to my iPAQ was not secure at all. Any slight motion of the cable and the pda lost connection to my computer. So, unless you plan on not bumping your cable or ipaq EVER while syncing, i'd steer away from this. Also ran into power issues with the iConcepts cradle.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Product Works as advertised!
This cable is a great solution if you dont want to carry your cradle all over the place. The cable synced as well as charges my ipaq. I have been using it for 2 months and have yet to have a problem. most of all the price is great without sacrificing quality. I would definetly reccomend. Great Buy!!! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars When you need it, its there in the car to do its thing.
When the battery runs down while in the car ... I listen to mp3s as my car radio doesn't work and the music is better with ear phones anyway ... you are just stuck with a dead iPAC until you can get it to the cradle ... unless you have this really useful charger stored in the glove compartment. Just plug one end into the cigarette lighter and the other end to the iPAC and you are back in business again, whether listening to music or just needing the iPAC fully charged for that important appointment. A great accessory!

5-0 out of 5 stars Dont leave home without it.
The batteries fizzle on the ipaq pretty quick. You'll need
this to keep a fresh charge.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very nice.
This product is a very handy thing to have in the car when you are a PPC owner. I use it for my iPaq and am very happy with it. It charges the battery quickly and is easy to use. Thanks Compaq!

5-0 out of 5 stars Power on the go
As great as the iPAQ pocket-pc is, it consumes a significant amount of battery when used with card phones or GPS accessories. While traveling in my car, the power ran out and I was unable to use the GPS. Now, with the new adapter, I can use it anywhere, anytime. This is a must have for all power users of the iPAQ. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great case, but doesn't sit in cradle for iPAQ 3630
I love the case -- its much lighter/less bulky than the previous padded case I had and it's sturdy. The one drawback is that I have to remove my iPAQ 3630 from the case in order for it to fit in the cradle. I still give it 5 stars because the case was designed for the 3800/3900 series (not 3630) and other than that one issue, I've been extremely pleased with it.

2-0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for
I am not sure what the other people were thinking, but if you are looking for something nice to compliment your ipaq, look elsewhere. The construction was shoddy, it arrived scrathed. It has some cheap coating on the aluminum that makes it look like a little girls cheap toy. It did not fit in the cradle for my ipaq 3835. If you think you can save a few bucks and get this model be aware you will not get the best quality.

2-0 out of 5 stars Still don't have the product
I ordered the product on 3-5-04 and it's now 3-17-04. Seems a bit slow for even standard shipping.

2-0 out of 5 stars A total disappointment
This item is about as cheap as you can get. I wouldn't be surprised if it only cost 50 cents to make.

The fit is also not very good as it isn't molded very well to the shape of the IPAQ - again a quality issue.

It was an unfortunate disappointment.

1-0 out of 5 stars WOW THIS IS BAD!!!!
THIS PRODUCT IS HORRIBLE!!!!!DO NOT BUY!!!!Comes shaped horribly and doesn't fit your iPaq. It will not fit in the cradle and after about an hour I spent reshaping it, I gave up. I hate this case and I wish I never bought it. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Serial Cradle Woes
While it is a bummer that Compaq does not have any serial cradles available yet for NT4.0 users who don't have USB support, I bought a serial cable and it works just fine. I had no trouble getting it to synchronize with my workstation running Windows NT, although it's slower than USB, I guess. You can get the cable right here from Amazon.

5-0 out of 5 stars iPAQ NT4.0 workaround
I have iPAQ and Windows NT 4 at work and the workaround is to email to my home Windows 98 machine (that supports the iPAQ USB connection) items I wish to download - It works fantastic until I get my hands on a serial connection. I downloaded all my contact information directly via infrared from old Casio Windows CE device - if you have Palm (or PocketPC) get PEACEMAKER software to communication with CE (or Palm) devices.

2-0 out of 5 stars Useless is right!
The iPaq's been out since June and I happened to be one of the first on hand when CompUsa had it on the shelf so I eagerly snatched it up. I can use the USB at home but I also needed the serial cradles for NT at work. Yet here it is October and the serial port still isn't available! Three months and all I've got is a $500 digital grocery list. And what's with CE ver 3? No close button on the applications! I don't even use it now, what a waste of money. Should've been smart and returned it within 14 days. I still drool over the display of accessories for every other hand held out there...

5-0 out of 5 stars Not available, but not a necessity
A lot of the posts about the IPaq lament the inoperability of the standard USB connector with NT. Rather than let what's an otherwise outstanding product get undeserved trashing I thought I'd explain a few things.

Windows 2000 DOES support USB, I use it with my laptop and Ipaq every day. Works great.

If you have to use NT4 on a laptop, you don't get USB, but you DO have support for infrared data transfer. You don't need to buy anything additional, and most laptops have it built in. I sync this way while traveling, works great and nothing else to carry.

For desktops and NT, you COULD buy a serial port connected infrared transmitter/reciever and accomplish the same thing, but most wouldn't want to. Preferring to wait for the serial cradle.

So it's not a total loss, but it is regretable that Compaq can't keep up with demand.

4-0 out of 5 stars Serial Cradle
I used this product for 13 days and returned it to Staples before their usual 14 day return policy expired. This is a great product, however, since I have a Windows NT machine, it is useless. (Windows NT can't use USB and I could not find a serial cradle anywhere.) I also wasn't thrilled with the size of the IPAQ. It is twice as thick as the Palm V. Way too big to put comfortably in my jeans pocket. Furthermore, it needs a cover to protect the screen. The Palm V leather case is the best example of how Compaq should design their unit/case. ... 1-0 out of 5 stars Doesn't even work half the time
It is all in the title. The first time I tried to use the slim keyboard it wouldn't work. I tried a number of time here and there but never could get it to do anything when I typed on the keys. I tired it again a few months later and the miracle is that the keyboad worked. Then I recharged my ipaq and tried the slim keyboard again and again it didn't work. I have tried a number of thing thinking it was perhaps me who was stupid. Turns out it is the key board that is stupid. Go figure. Well HP looks as if you have done it again.

2-0 out of 5 stars Good hardware concept - poorly executed software
Keyboard is well designed and fits solidly to Ipaq. Keys are well defined and provide positive feedback when pressed. A see-through plastic cover like the one that comes with the basic unit is attached to the keyboard and serves to protect the screen if the unit is in your pocket or briefcase. Overall good ergonomics for the hardware.
I'd like to say I leave the slim keyboard attached all the time and use it regularly, but I don't because it doesn't deliver in performance. The software is buggy and conflicts with other programs. Sometimes it works fine, other times it types random characters - other times it doesn't type at all. Despite HP's updates to the driver, it is still buggy, so it sits in a drawer until HP releases another update, then I'll try it again. I also have the HP folding keyboard which I use regularly without any problems, so I have to conclude it is a problem with the slim keyboard. Attempts to bring the problems to the attention of HP resulted in no reply to my emails. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars No honor for amazon.com to recommend this for IPAQ 1935
Very misleading. I bought this together with my ipaq 1935. In the end, I found this bag is not for my PDA. SInce it is too cheap, I did not even bother to return it to amazon.com and let it collect dust in a corner at my home.

Amazon.com should modify its recommendation.

1-0 out of 5 stars Useless for 1945
I bought it as it said it was compatible with all Ipaq and says that on the packaging too. It is way too big for a 1945. Slots etc are covered up, and it's just about useless. It has a belt clip which isn't listed on the Amazon page, either, and is bigger and bulkier than expected.

1-0 out of 5 stars Very Misleading
I bought HP ipaq 1935 and then eventually i got this case .. the supposedly recommended one. i am so disappointed with this one. this case is like gaint and i can put 3 ipaqs in that thing. Seems its built for the old bulky ones. BUT WHY DOES IT SAY FITS ALL IPAQS!!!! very misleading. this is one of the things i hate about online stores. I m returning it back

1-0 out of 5 stars iConcepts case for ipaq
This case is large and bulky, and completely takes the iPaq out of the realm of a shirt pocket pc. It states on the packaging that it is a belt clip case, which wasn't mentioned in the add at Amazon.com. Completely unsuitable for my uses.

3-0 out of 5 stars Question?
Would this product fit an iPaq 1910? If not, which one would?

Please let me know so I can proceed with my purchases.

5-0 out of 5 stars Never enough!
It is great to have a few of these stylus pens around. Invariably I will put one down and it will not resurface for a day or so. Now I can continue what I am doing simply by reaching for one from my handy supply and when the "other one" resurfaces it can be placed with the others who so paitiently await their turn for duty.

5-0 out of 5 stars Exact replacements for the one that came with the iPAC
What else can one say about a stylus other than as indicated by the title? It's hard to imagine how one would break the origional stylus, but if one does, it would be really great to have a spare handy to replace it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Stylus anyone?
What can I say, If you own an iPAQ 38XX, 39XX, or 54XX you can always use a set of these. It seems I'm always losing them. At this price it's nice to have an extra set on hand, just in case. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars For $59 I expect more than a coiled cord
Price gouging at it's finest. This is a simple 12V plug with a resistor to step the voltage down to 5V and an appropriate sized plug on the other end. Asking $59 for this is absolutely outrageous. Yes it's a handy thing to have. Yes, I'd recommend you have a way to charge your iPaq in the car. No, I don't recommend this.

Take this same $59 to Radio Shack and buy a 12V 100 amp inverter. This device plugs into your cigarette lighter and provides a normal AC plug (like your house) and will let you use ANY small electrical device without buying a collection of cigarette lighter adapters.

5-0 out of 5 stars Handy Gadget for any iPAQ
Ever been stuck in rush hour? Travel for a living in your car? Maximize your time and re-charge your iPAQ in your car!

I found this gadget to be perfect for those rush hour jams (or when traffic comes to a full stop!) to play games, do email, review documents, etc.

Granted you shouldn't be using your iPAQ and driving.... but if you want to spend your time in the car re-charging your device or if you travel for a living, this one is a must have.

There are times when I forget to connect my iPAQ at work. All day long it's being used and not charging. I just plug it in on the way home and presto....it's charged! I do the same for my morning commute.

Just leave this gadget in your glove box and it's ready to go the next day!

5-0 out of 5 stars We all love commuting
Ever been in the car on the way to work or home, and your batteries only have enought power to shutdown; and you just need to get one last e-mail through to the office on your power hungry modem. Well the auto adapter. Puts your fears at rest. Even if you didn't get a chance to re-charge your i-paq the night before, you are now able to do it during the drive to work. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars At least it had a lint free cloth...
I had been using Fellowes WriteRight screen protectors for my iPAQ 3850, and I have gone back to using them after my experience with the Belkin protectors. I had switched to Belkin as they sounded like they might be gentler on my screen. However, I made several attempts to apply the Belkin protectors, but could not get them applied cleanly no matter how slowly and thoroughly I rubbed them on. Furthermore, they seemed just a shade narrower than the Fellowes protectors, which can lead to slight catches of the stylus as it passes over the far edges of the screen. They did come with a lint free cloth to clean the screen (something not provided by the Fellowes protectors), and that was nice, but that is really all they have to offer.

1-0 out of 5 stars Bleh AWFUL
Bleh, these are AWFUL.

I ordered a pack and a pack of the HP screen protectors.

The Belkin's use a non permanent adhesive that no matter how much you smooth it, give your screen a gnarly look. While this holds well, it looks terrible.

The HP protectors have NO adhesive but are held in by tension on the edges. These produce no screen artifacts while looking great.

5-0 out of 5 stars Clean, clear protection!
I'm telling you that these guys are just the right size. They fit the screen perfectly. They do not appear dark, but seem to reduce glare on the touch screen. They absorb the scratches and smudges that would normally scare the PDA screen. Included are instructions that are clear and easy to follow. I found using soft screen cleaning pad and the smoothie card helpful in applying the overlay properly. These overlays are a must buy if you care to preserve your Ipaq screen. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Its just the same carger as comes with the cradle.
As the titel says, this appears to be exactly the same charger that comes with the cradle. The reason for only one star is, like the cradle adapter, the end where it plugs into the iPAC is two pieces. The end of the cord is terminated with the round plug that will plug into the Cradle. That then plugs into an adapter which actually plugs into the bottom of the iPAC. What this does when all hooked up is produce this huge "thing" attached to the bottom of the iPAC.

I bought the AC Adaptor so I can read in bed at night, using Microsoft Reader, without running the battery down. Having this huge charger attachment sticking out the bottom of the iPAC is a real bother and agrivation, as it alters the "feel" of the iPAC and just generally makes me mad. I only use it when I have to, when the battery goes too far down from reading a particularly long time and I want to keep reading. Otherwise, it just collects dust. On top of it all, it isn't necessary and you can save yourself some money, as one can just use the AC adaptor for the Cradle as it is identical in every way to this item.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very handy product, picture shown is old
There's nothing wrong with this adapter. Period. (Except the packaging is a little hard to open- well, maybe really hard).
The picture shown in the description is not what this looks like- the adapter to plug it in directly to the handheld can come off if you want to use a cradle or keyboard to charge your handheld. I bought an Ipaq 5455 and it's the same adapter that came with it. Very handy to have for any PocketPC owner. ... Read more
