4-0 out of 5 stars A pretty nice case.
This is a pretty nice case and does a good job of protecting your iPaq. It's got a nice little storage compartment for extra memory chips, as well as space to hold business or credit cards. One small complaint is that the side strap isn't as long as a stylus, so if you store an extra stylus in the holder, it will stick out a little either on the top or the bottom (or a little less on both). No biggie, though, that's really nitpicking.

Also, as you should be able to tell from the picture, it is a bit bulky. If you use it, you iPaq is no longer a "Pocket" PC, but it will fit nicely in your laptop bag, briefcase, or (for the ladies) your purse. I wish there were some clever way for it to attach to one's belt in such a manner that it could slide in and out for relatively easy access. Oh well, I guess we'll never see a product like that... ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Keys and unit could be larger
While I should have been more cognizant of the scale of this product from the picture on this detail page, I had envisioned it as more of an ergonomic piece that I could wrap my fingers around and type with my thumbs. Unfortunately, it feels about 80% of the size I was hoping it would be. The keys are tactile, as they are raised, but they're just slightly too small for thumb typing at a better rate than hunting and pecking with the onscreen keyboard. The advantage of the mini keyboard is that, unlike the fullsize keyboards, you don't need a flat surface on which to type. However, the iPaq feels slightly unbalanced in the too-small unit and, rather than using the unit to support the iPaq, I find myself resting the iPaq on a desktop or on my lap. In summary, the typing speed gain isn't significant enough for me to recommend this unit to everyone given it's hefty price tag.

3-0 out of 5 stars it's okay, but the stylus might be faster
It seems like a neat idea, and it's nice and compact. however if you get into to a typing frenzy, your thumbs tend to cover up your vision of the keys you need to type, and you get lost easily and have to keep looking down at the keyboard to get your bearings. There's supposed to be a button to press in order to disengage it from the iPAQ so you don't break it. The first time I pressed it, it got permanently locked into the "release" position. It still stays on firmly and i can just tug at it to loosen it, but the button was worthless. typing might still be faster if you just use the stylus on the digital keyboard that pops up onscreen. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Great but inconvenient product
Sync-charger cable works fine with my laptop and docking station as well as my desktop. I love the overall concept. This is the only product I've found that gives you sync-charge capabilities plus wall, car, and international chargers all in a small package.

Unfortunately, when I plug the charging cable into the car or wall charger, I have 2 problems ...#1: When my iPAQ automatically shuts down due to inactivity, it can't be re-started using the on/off switch--I have to do a soft reset. #2: The clock stops functioning, so I have to manually set it to the correct time.

Tech support suspected a bad cord, so I received a new one...and it does the same thing.

5-0 out of 5 stars Neat Solution to power and sync
Have used daily for 3 months on HP5450. Works as advertised with no problems at all. Charged from wall, car and USB port with simultaneously sync capability when connected to a computer via activesync.

1-0 out of 5 stars Did not work
Everytime I try to charge my Ipaq it locks up. And, it does not charge it. I have tried the wall and the car charger. Both give the same results.

3-0 out of 5 stars USB Travel kit for iPaq 3800/3900
It has one USB cord and what one does is attach the USB part to interchangeable plugs, wall, car, and computer. It also includes plugs for other countries. This is a pretty good product. I haven't tried the car accessory. I did attempt to use the wall plug. The plug kept falling out of the wall socket. When attached to my iPaq it acted like it was trying synch with the wall socket. Now when I use the USB connection to hook up to my laptop, that is very functional. It is ok, I'm not that thrilled with it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Product Works Fine
This is the best all in one solution. It came with a Sync and charge cable which seemed to work fine for me(I have been using it for over a month). It also came with the Travel charger which also works fine and charges pretty quick, I do alot of Worlwide traveling and it even came with adapter plugs. Finally I keep the car charger it my car and on the way home from work I charge my ipaq and it gives me a full charge in less than a hour. All in all this is the best kit out there for the price and convenience. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Battery warning!
I don'tknow if it is a quirk of my PocketPC or of the case, but my unit apparently turns itself on spontaneously. 1-0 out of 5 stars I have tried all the screen protector brands
This one is the worst among all. Stay away and buy anything else.

2-0 out of 5 stars Better than nothing, but barely
Ditto the other reviews. I was *extremely* careful in applying the protector, and I still have a couple of bubbles. I've wondered more than once how I'm going to get the thing off, too, and I *really* don't like the idea of using a needle to pry it up. And since no one else mentioned it, I will: My resolution is noticeably worse with the protector on the screen than without it. I think it might be the texture of the surface that supposedly prevents the glare that causes it, but it is annoying. And while I'm complaining, I might as well mention that it doesn't really prevent glare very well--hardly at all, in fact, and the protector isn't quite large enough to cover the whole screen. I suspect that after a couple of weeks of use, there will be a line of lint around the edge of the screen because of it. I hope the adhesive they use on the back of it doesn't leave a residue, or else I'll be really mad.

About the only good thing that I can say about this product is that it's better than nothing. I'll definitely be checking out the NuShield product, though.

1-0 out of 5 stars Growing old waiting for shipment
What a waste of time,as 2 weeks went by
and still no product from IConcepts!
Try any other manufacturer for screens.

2-0 out of 5 stars a quote from 48 hours "bubbles, man. bubbles."
iconcept probably has a good product in the screen protector for my compaq ipaq. i had to remove and reapply because of the bubbles. when i reapplied, i followed the instruction by using credit card to slide across the sheet. still, i have bubbles but this time much less than just slaping it on without using the credit card. when i had to remove to reapply, i had to use a needle to initially get it going. i don't think that was a good idea to do on my expensive ipaq. anyone knows a better way? iconcept should have given a better removal instruction. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars NECESSARY for NT4
If you still run Windows NT4 and you have an Ipaq, you cannot use USB. So either upgrade to 2000/XP, or buy this. Serial is really slow, though, so I'd recommend upgrading, personally.

5-0 out of 5 stars iPAQ Serial Auto Sync Cable
I purchesed the serial cable to apply to Windows NT network (USB does not work). Cable provides reliable connection - never had a failure. Very convenient and easy to use.

3-0 out of 5 stars Must Have for mobil users
I bought mine for the road and for just using while at work. I like it because i never have to pull my IPAQ out of the velcroed travel case that I use for carrying it. I am actually thinking of getting another one for home or even the usb version but really I haven't noticed any diff. in speed of transfer.

3-0 out of 5 stars When is a cable not a cable...?
Seriously it is a great cable...and I recommend having it.

But I still think there are better ways to sync or use your cell phone or modem. Why make things more complicated than they have to be? That is why you need this cable -- just in case Murphy's law decides to show its face.

Flexibility is the only reason to have it...

4-0 out of 5 stars It's a cable, what else do you expect?
I bought this cable in order to connect my iPaq to my Motorola Timeport PT8167 (or something like that). There was a lot of misinformation out there stating that in order to use the iPaq with a cell phone, that you had to purchase some sort of CF adapter (I think it's made by Socket). That's all good, but the CF adapter costs $120 or so, you have to have the CF sleeve, and if you do, you can't have anything else in the CF sleeve =(

So I bought this and connected the serial cable to the iPaq, attached the supplied null modem adapter (included with my phone), attached the phone cable to the phone, set up connnection in the iPaq, and it dialed and worked. I was literally surfing the net on my iPaq within 10 minutes. The best thing about this is that my CF sleeve can hold my CF card or I can use the phone with a sleeve at all! My next project is to splice together the two cables to avoid the 15 feet of cable and cumbersome null modem adapter. I want a cable that is about 8 inches long that connects directly from phone to PDA. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Where's the power cord?
Being able to synchronize the iPAQ at the office is incredibly convenient. The device installs easily into Windows 2000. However, where's the power cord? It would really be nice if the device could get recharged at the office, too. If you use just the iPAQ, it's probably not that big of a deal, but with additional accessories installed [modem, wireless LAN connection, etc.] the power starts to drain. Just a thought.

5-0 out of 5 stars Useful
A second iPAQ cradle is great for syncing up at work--that is--if you have a Windows 98 system. Unfortunately, many people have Windows NT at work, which only supports serial, not USB. There is hope however, as Windows2000 provides native support for USB ports.

The iPAQ hot sync cradle one-ups the Palm world by not even needing to press the button on the cradle to start the process. You just plop it in the cradle and off it goes.

One advantage to USB is that it is about 6 times faster than serial. The fastest serial is 115,000 kpbs, but USB is 690,000 bps.

4-0 out of 5 stars The more, the merrier!
Having an extra cradle/charger is very useful if your like me and would like to sync up at both home and work. The cradle itself is excellent. Although the Jornada 545 also has a USB connection, it is not nearly as fast as the iPaq's (makes me question whether the HP's connection is -really- USB). ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Works Fine For The h1910
Yes, if you are buying these for you Compaq h1940 they will not work too well, but that is why it says 1910 at the top of the page.
I just put the first one on my 1910 and it was the exact size of the screen. There were no words written on it, that was on the outside and came off. It even came with a cloth to wipe the dust off and a card they call a "smoothie card" to smooth out the cover.
So, for all of you who have the Ipaq h1910 these will be fine, but it looks like the other reviewers had other 1900 models which may not work so well.

1-0 out of 5 stars Get something else
These overlays do not cover the whole screen. They are somewhat smaller. This is very annoying to me. They are somewhat difficult to put on correctly. There's belkin.com written over the plastic, which I really do not appreciate. It ticks me off that they value their advertising more that providing me with a good product. I thought the cover would be transparent, but it is nowhere near that. You will clearly see this this piece of plastic staring at you. I also think the price for this stuff is outrages.

3-0 out of 5 stars not the best overlays ever made
I purchased these overlays for my iPAQ 1940. The overlay seems a little small (particularily in its width) as it will not completely cover the active portion of the screen. (The scroll bar is not covered by the overlay if you line it up to the left.) Likewise it was enormously hard to put the overlay without any wrinkles and the plastic seems a little sensative to stretch. I've used the Fellowes WriteRights for a while, so I think I'm decent to putting these things on correctly. I never encountered such a problem using the Fellowes products before. I'd recommend getting a similar sized WriteRight and cut it out to the dimensions of your PDA. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Difficult to apply
I'm not sure if I should have applied this or not. We really shouldn't put anything sticky on the sensitive iPaq screen. But I felt the alternative of nothing was worse so I went for it. Anyway, I had no problem removing the protector from my first few attempts on centering and smoothing and I love their companion product for the Palm VII. But I found this one harder to apply. Also the card that come with it is way too small. I had to go and fish out my Palm VII applicator to do the job. What were they thinking. It took me about 5 tries and I still have a small bubble or two but overall I'm fairly happy with it. And I do have peace of mind with it on there.

4-0 out of 5 stars Better than others...
I have tried other adhesive screen protectors and I always return to this one. With just a little patience (less than 3 minutes of your time) they can be applied bubble free. I have also not found any evidence of the adhesive ruining my screen and I have been using them pretty consistently for 3 years. I do not do much handwriting on my iPAQ and so cannot speak to that sensitivity, but have not noticed problems with sensitivity for other stylus functions. And the image seems just as clear as without the protector. Also, I had no "Fellowes"/copyright label printed on the protectors as earlier reviews had mentioned.

4-0 out of 5 stars Works fine, takes practice
I've been using these for about a year and they work very well, in my experience lasting for several months. They improve the feel of the screen, but I haven't noticed that they improve visibility...on the other hand they don't seem to degrade it either.

In my case they have not damaged the screen in any way, they remove very cleanly so you can use a new sheet.

They take practice to apply, and each of us will figure out our own technique. It's important to clean the screen first, and do the application in a lint free environment like a bathroom as opposed to your computer desk.

Don't panic when you see some bubbles after the application, they will go away by themselves in a few days...but you really should try to get most of them eliminated during the application process if possible.

I'm very satisfied with the product, all things considered.

2-0 out of 5 stars Protector Good, Adhesive bad
The adhesive will ruin your screen. I don't understand why you are going to pay 20 dollars to "protect" your screen when it's in fact not helping you at all. I bought them and then heard that they were tough to put on. I still tried but, it is very difficult. I would reccommend going to the compaq website and going under ipaq accessories. They sell them there for 16 dollars with screen protectors without adhesive. Also this does not increase sensitivity, it reduces it. How is something like this going to actually increase it? Well i'll leave it up to you if you want to destroy your screen.

4-0 out of 5 stars works well
Upon applying the WriteRight to my iPaq, I must admit, I was wondering what kind of bogus accessory had I fallen for--air bubbles abounded despite some rather patient handiwork. I decided to give it a few days, since the product received strong reviews on cnet.com--it paid off--within 3 or 4 days, every hint of a bubble had completely disappeared. I simply could not tell that the plastic was on the screen, except for the reduced glare perhaps (it was working).

Fellowes recommends that the WriteRight be changed monthly. On schedule, the plastic film seemed smudged and in need of replacement after four weeks--better the film than the iPaq screen itself.

Recommend. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Good, but no instructions for initiating a hotsync
The cable does what it's supposed to do, but I spent about an hr and a lot of mental energy trying to figure out how to initiate a hotsync. I've never had a portable hotsync cable, so I've always had a cradle which has a Hotsync button. There were no instructions, and the manufacturer, iconcepts, doesn't seem to have a website. So, I tried Handpring's website, and found in the FAQ section that all I needed to do was to start the Hotsync app on the Handspring, and tap the Hotsync symbol. I could have saved a lot of time if this was explained somewhere on the packaging. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Useful Add-on
I've been very satisfied with this keyboard, although I almost didn't get it after reading the reviews. Thankfully, I got it anyway! I'm a touch-typist with large hands, and I've been able to use it without having to look down very often. My fingers are able to get around to the keys well, but as another reviewer mentioned, some keys are in different places, like a notebook computer.

The unit folds down very compactly, which makes it easy to slip into a pocket or just tote along with the iPAQ.

My co-workers who also have iPAQs are very jealous of my keyboard, especially when I type in business cards or take notes in meetings. Highly recommended!

4-0 out of 5 stars Space Bar Correction
Initially when I bought this product I had experienced the same space bar issue I read about later. I liked everything else about it. I was within warranty so I returned it for another, and this one works perfect. I like it much better than the infrared models and its extremely handy for meetings. HP gave me excellent service on this as well.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Item for my PPC
This keyboard is the best purchase for my PPC. It is the most integrated keyboard and it is very compact and sleek. I recommend this product to everyone.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Pleased
I have just purchased this keyboard, and it has opened a whole lot of other possibilities for my IPaq. If you are planning on writing more than a simple sentence on your PDA, this is a must.

The keyboard is a little smaller than regular size, and it does take a little bit to get use to. Also, because of its portability, some keys are in odd places, such as the Shift being only on your left side of the keyboard. But those are the only setbacks I have found, which I don't really mind, since you make up a whole lot of ground with its portability. It is extremely easy to install, and there are no adapters of any kind. Granted, this is the only keyboard I have purchased so far, but I wasn't too enamored with the looks on the Stowaway from Targus. Whether the keyboard is closed, or open, its physical features are equally appealing. The keyboard comes with shortcuts for each of your mayor programs, but you can also configure your own.

Overall, it's a worthwhile investment, although the price is a little higher than its competition. I'm truly pleased with its features, portability and its appearance.

1-0 out of 5 stars Keys too Small. Get the Targus
I bought if for my wife, who has small hands. It was too small for her. Go with the Targus, it has full size keys. The Targus only has one gotcha: to use the Targus with newer IPaq's you need to use the enclosed adapter, which makes it hard to connect the Ipaq and which has to be carried separately. It took my wife a number of tries to get her Ipaq on the Targus keyboard. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Lousy workmanship
The connector is poorly constructed. The left and right pin to hold on to the PDA slot are very weak. The connector cannot be plugged firmly into the slot. It cannot sync properly because the connection is on for a while and then off for a while. Strongly recommend never buy it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Serial connection did not work w/ 3955
Poor quality constrution and serial connection did not work Ipaq 3955.

1-0 out of 5 stars Does not charge my iPAQ 3835 off a powered USB port
I read the reviews prior to purchasing this device. Some commented the product performed as advertised. Others had trouble getting the device to charge thier iPAQ. I happen to have another USB sync/charger cable manufactured by Belkin, handy. I plugged the Belkin model into a powered USB port and it performed very well. It came with a switch which allowed one to hook up and just charge or hook up and sync. When I tried the iConcepts cable, it failed to charge my iPAQ although it did sync. I called the folks at Sakar International who produce the iConcepts' products and they admitted that my device was probably defective. They offered a replacement, but I elected to return the cord to Amazon for full reimbursement. Course, Amazon was great and even paid for the shipping, as the customer service at Amazon is always excellent. I caution folks to reconsider purchasing this product since it appears many have received defective cables. ... Read more
