The Pocket PC Camera is compatible with PCs only and hooks up through a 9-foot USB cable. this camera is a GREAT BUY if you want smaller images @ 640x480. it's compact and easy to take everywhere. downloading the pics is easy as a click away with its software. plus, it makes a great webcam so you can have video chats with friends on the 'net. also, webcam stills are very good quality!! DO NOT BUY this camera if you want a camera that takes HQ images. there is no zoom and no flash, which is a setback because i can never take pictures at night. also, when objects are not in good lighting, images tend to be grainy and blurry. otherwise, images are usually sharp and clean during the day.

Amazon.com Review We ran a simple setup program to install all of the Pocket Concert's drivers and software applications. The player connects to the PC's USB port for a fast transfer of files, and it is compatible with Windows 98, Windows ME, and Windows 2000. We appreciated the Intel Audio Manager's simple interface for transferring files to the player, as well as the powerful MusicMatch Jukebox Plus software that let us rip music from CDs and create playlists as well as transfer files. With a sleek, rounded, polished-aluminum body, this lightweight player fit comfortably in our hand or fastened onto our belt or bag with the removable clip. The player's solid-state flash memory makes it completely impervious to shocks and jolts, so it's ideal for using while jogging or working out at the gym. We had no trouble reading the large, backlit LCD, which shows song titles and playback options, including the status of the unit's two AA batteries. The scroll wheel on the side of the unit made it easy to select tracks and set bookmarks as well as control random and repeat modes, bass, and treble. Simply press the button on the other side of the unit to turn on the built-in FM radio, and then use the scroll wheel to tune to your favorite station or manage the 10 preset stations. The unit's 128 MB of flash memory storage translates into two to four hours of music, depending on the compression ratio and file type. (The Concert supports both MP3 and the more highly compressed WMA files.) The unit's memory capacity isn't upgradable, but to anyone who's used 64 or 32 MB players, 128 MB will feel like decadent luxury. The Pocket Concert plays its crystal-clear digital audio through a pair of "neckphone" headphones, which have a dark blue headband that clips over your ears and swings around the back of your head. Though they're considerably bulkier than the ear-bud style headphones found with most MP3 players, we were impressed by the full, rich sound and found the secure fit good for exercising. Intel got practically everything right with the Pocket Concert Player. A large display and well-designed controls make it a pleasure to use, the neckphone headphones provide excellent sound, and the included software is easy-to-use and powerful. And, most important, they've broken the memory barrier, offering a 128 MB unit for the same price as comparable 64 MB units. --Ken Feinstein Pros: Cons: Special Note: The optional Intel Pocket Concert Audio Accessory Kit comes with two rechargeable NiMH batteries and a docking station for recharging the batteries as well as for hooking the unit up to your stereo system. It also includes a carrying case and car cassette adapter. Features Reviews (133)
I'm very glad I did. The IPC is a superior product, delivering excellent sound quality and portability with fewer hassles than any piece of electronic equipment I've ever owned. I especially like these features: * full-bodied, rich tone * wide range of sound levels, from barely-there to ear-blasting * comfortable, high-quality headphones that don't leak sound * large built-in memory * tiny enough to fit into a purse pocket * supplied Musicmaker software easy to use * aluminum case sturdier than cheap plastic The only real quibble I have about the IPC is that its FM reception is abysmal. Purchasers in desperate need of a good FM receiver should look elsewhere. It's also not easy to find the accessory pack in Canada (even at shops selling the IPC) - and retailers who sell the accessory pack online (including amazon.com, oddly) won't ship it to Canada. Outback.com will ship the accessory pack along with the IPC, but not separately! Lord knows why this is the case, but fill yer boots, there it is. Canadians should either buy the accessory pack separately at Amazon and have it shipped to a US address, or buy the IPC bundled with the pack from an online retailer like outback.com. (The accessory pack includes rechargable batteries and a dock/recharger, as well as a car converter and a carrying case.) But these are quibbles. The Intel Pocket Concert delivers superior sound (superior to most home stereo units, in my opinion) and a large memory with small size and durability. I highly recommend it.
The flimsy earphone jack has broken on 2 units I have owned - rendering the player completely useless. The sealed case makes repair impossible.
Finally, I dropped it out of my gym locker, and the headphone jack came loose (which seems to be a common issue). Although Intel has discontinued the product, they were quick to offer me a full refund (full refund!). If I hadn't already thrown away the recharging cradle, I would pick up another one in a heartbeat. I haven't yet seen a player that can match it on both features and price. My only serious gripe might be that the power switch has three settings, and it is very hard to switch from HOLD to ON without jumping straight to OFF. ... Read more | |

Amazon.com Review To set up the Create and Share Camera Pack, we just plugged our camera into the USB port on the back of our computer, turned it on, loaded the software and the install took care of the rest. The manual was incredibly easy to follow, with large print, nice illustrations, and well-divided sections for quick reference. After the software is installed, you can choose to take a tour of it or explore on your own. We found that the software was intuitive enough to just jump right in. The camera is so small and light, that if you don't permanently mount it in place, it will move around. However, once you secure the camera, it is easy to adjust with both pan and tilt. You can adjust variable lighting settings and a manual focus if the picture isn't quite right. The video looks sharp and surprisingly clear and stays in focus from various distances. Make sure you have at least 28.8 Kbps modem, so that you receive clear, unchoppy video--anything slower won't be worth your time. Aside from videoconferencing, Intel provides a number of other applications for the camera. You can send e-mail postcards, play camera games that let you interact live with the game on the screen, create and edit your own movies, or build your own Web page. One of the perks that sets Intel's package apart from the rest is the Create and Share's additional software that you can send to a friend or family member with whom you want to videoconference. Even if they don't have a camera themselves, it will enable them to see and hear you. For the novice videoconferencer, this package is a great deal, with just enough user-friendly software to make it a worthwhile investment. Pros: Features Reviews (4)

Amazon.com Product Description The PAP 3000 supports both MP3 and Windows Media Audio (WMA) out of the box, and is firmware-upgradable to support changing digital audio standards. It's expandable using MultiMediaCards (MMCs), enabling you to increase the memory up to 172 MB (with a 128 MB MMC card). Featuring an LCD display, the 3000 also has such functions as bass and treble adjustment, repeat, shuffle, and control lock. Jump from track to track, or move forward or backward within a song. The Personal Audio Player 3000 comes with software for your PC to help you create, organize, and enjoy your own digital audio library. The Intel Audio Manager 2.0 quickly and easily transfers audio files from your PC to the player. You'll also get a copy of MusicMatch Jukebox 6.1 with an upgrade key, enabling you to rip digital audio from your own CDs. Customize the look of your player with the Intel Faceplate Designer. Just add a picture or design to the easy-to-use template and print it out, then remove the player's faceplate and insert your new look. Carry your tunes with you with the handy removable belt clip. The Personal Audio Player 3000 also includes a USB cable and one alkaline AA battery, which lasts up to 10 hours. Features Reviews (99)
It is extremely light, and comes with a belt clip that is pretty sturdy. Also, the USB connection is very fast--I'd say that songs on average take 20-30 seconds to upload. The volume is more than adequate--and the earbud headphones sound great. There is also an equalizer that allows you to up the bass and treble levels. Couple of negatives: Cannot transfer songs from the player back to the computer. Song names don't appear on the player. The faceplates are quite ugly (unless you're a 13 year old girl), so I don't use any faceplates. But the faceplate cover seems a little flimsy--like it would be easy to pop off. That hasn't happened yet, but I just sometimes wonder... Also, given that Intel just announced that they're no longer going to sell their consumer electronics, I'm wary of future customer support. But based on my experience over the past few days, I highly recommend this player, and think it is great for anyone looking for a small, portable MP3 player.
Pros Cons Overall, if you want an MP3 player capable of keeping up with an active lifestyle. This is a great choice.

The only down side is it is not portable and once in a while, the color is "off" depending on the lighting. Definitely worth the price!!

Waste of time and money Unfortunatly I had to rate this as one star as I could not submit this without a star
There were horrendous compatibility problems with simple software-- problems the like of which I had not seen since Windows 3.11. The proxy server did not work. Finally, Windows 98 ended up with corrupt VXD files on both computers I had networked, and that was the final straw. Can anyone recommend a good wireless networking device?

So far so good. I use it everyday and have had no problems and the sound quality is execellent. Way better than my Rio which sounded tiny. I even hooked it up to my stereo and blasted the dog with bad rock music from Finland. The interface is easy to use and the bundled software is pretty decent. I can also afford to listen to better quality music now that I have 128MB and it still holds 4X as many songs as my old player. I don't use the radio feature that much but it seems to work fine. It feels solid and well built and has survived a drop from my desk at work without any problems. I know plenty of people who have nothing but hassle with their players so I think I made the right choice.

Speed: 10/10 Storage: 10/10 Software: 8/10 Graphics: 10/10 Some people shouldn't buy this computer because they don't use it that much. P.S. This computer comes with Hyper Threading technology which is when you can run more than one thing at once without slowing down your computer at all. This is one of the best things computers come with these days. For this price you can't deny how good this computer is.
But to me the best thing is the 3.4GHz HT CPU. The "HT" means it supports Hyper-threading, which is a fancy way to say it can run two software threads at the same time. No other CPU in the consumer market can do that. I have a 3GHz HT cpu, and I love the fact that while I am doing something that takes a few minutes (like writing out a movie or burning a CD), I can go off and surf the web or play a game and never notice a slow down. It's almost a good as having 2 CPUs, except at a fraction of the price. Sure, a computer at this level may cost a little more, but the way I see it is why sit around waiting for your computer to do things? With this computer you get your time back. For me that's worth a few extra bucks.
