It Works!
If you have your PC hooked up to a TV this is a great add-on. I can easily control the whole thing from the sofa. Or even if you just want a less cluttered desk. I can move it all aside and have a lot of space for doing homework or projects. As for the mouse, a set of batteries will only last a few weeks, but I bought a set of rechargable batteries and never worry about it. I also bought two game controllers. If you have the mouse and keyboard go ahead and get the controllers. The programmable buttons on the keyboard are an especially nice touch and I love the colors. I am so glad to get rid of the wires on my desk.

Just thought I'd let you know that I e-mailed Intel tech support regarding the mouse battery issue, and let them know how displeased I was.

They did indeed, help me out. I suggest you do the same and e-mail them.

Battery Eater
Glad to hear I am not the only one who should buy stock in Duracell. Just wanted to echo the other reviews in that this mouse goes through three AA batteries every two weeks (but the keyboard can go for months??) If anyone ever does hear of a fix from Intel please post. In the mean time I am thinking of getting an optical wireless anyway.

Pathetic battery life
I have been using the wireless base and mouse for just over a month now and should have read the reviews before I bought it. I have had to replace the three AAA batteries on average of once every eight days or so. I actually started keeping track because I thought I was going crazy with replacing them so often.

The last two times, I have used Duracell Ultras, which cost more because they are supposed to be longer-lasting, but again it's flashing low battery on the 9th day they've been in, and from experience, they will be dead by morning.

During the last two times with new batteries, I have been placing the mouse in a container to prevent the minimal lighting that comes from my desktop power strip from keeping the mouse active (which according to the reviews does not allow the mouse to conserve its power), but this has made no positive difference.

When the batteries are strong, it works well although the large surface area of it took some getting used to. It dies very quickly once the "batt low" on the base station flashes and becomes unbelievably difficult to maneuver, forcing you to replace the batteries.

Save yourself some money and frustration and try out the Logitech cordless mouse. During the year I used that one, I never once had any conflicts and replaced the batteries only once.

Not quite in the game
This is without a doubt the worst computer product I have ever purchased. Intel should stick to making processors. This never worked right. The helpline could not get it to work right. Speaking of which, the helpline never returns calls when they say they will. Make sure you need a wireless keyboard and mouse before you buy any of these types of products. If your computer ever hangs up or you need to work in a DOS mode, these products will not work and you'll be left dragging out your old keyboard and mouse to get past the problem. ... Read more

Actually, this is a good thing (atleast for people like me). I already have an Intel wireless base station and mouse. This seprate keyboard gives me the flex to add a keyboard to it.

I STILL can't find the fine print that says "Base Station Not Included!" This just went from a good deal to not-worth-the-money. I hope it works like magic....

Good, but not recommended
Before the age of the internet and multimedia, the 101/102 key IBM-style keyboard was predominant. Only recently keyboard makers switched to something much, much more useful. Intel's new keyboard features a semi-connected wrist-pad, a few internet buttons, and a wireless connection to your PC. So far, so good. it does not feature the one-click sleep-mode button and because this is not a PC vendor-supplied keyboard, it does not have a button connecting you directly to the vendor's upgrade site. This in itself is not bad.

New keyboards have volume knobs, which is so useful nowadays, when so many people watch DVD movies on their PCs. Unfortunately, Intel's internet keyboard does not have a volume-knob. You will be satisfied with this keyboard, but I would suggest to look elsewhere. It's quite an expensive keyboard, but for the same price you will find the full-featured peripheral. ... Read more
