Systemax?Never again!
I bought a Systemax AMD 64 processor 3000+ 512mb with GA-K8VT800M motherboard around January 2004. By October the same year, the computer was in the shop. Technician told me the motherboard was fried - as in computer not even booting up. Fortunately, I was still under parts and labor warranty - so I was able to convince Systemax to mail me a new motherboard. After installation, computer worked fine - except that I had NO SOUND whatsoever. I did some research online, and found that this motherboard has onboard sound, and it is known to be problematic. The sound does not always work, and sometimes cuts off after a few minutes. Sure the computer looks beautiful in black, but I require both performance and reliability, not just looks. I'm afraid I now have no confidence in Systemax products.

In addition, their telephone support requires you to go through a tedious menu before you get to talk to a real person. Their software support is only free for 3 months, after which they want to charge you for the minute. I'm not impressed. ... Read more
