Not only the rolling case is great both in storage and functionality, but also TARGUS is a great company, I've owned an Easy roller for 3 years now and it withstand all the use and abuse that a frequent traveller can inflict to a Computer case, until finally the extensible handle broke (just the plastic grip) i've contacted targus in france took the case to their office, and in less than two weeks, no questions, no charges i've received at home a brand new one from the manufacturer.

loud and defective
i have a toshiba satellite 2405, and the adapter that came with my notebook died yesterday after serving me well for almost 3 years. so this morning i went to best buy and got the targus APA10US adapter. after i set it up, i discovered it makes a shrill, static-y sound that i could hear from the next room! so i returned it and got another one, hoping that it was a flaw with the specific adapter i got. turns out i was wrong -- the new one has the exact same problem! it's going back tomorrow, as well. oh, and the tip fits very badly. move the notebook or adapter even slightly, and the connection is lost... terrible, terrible product.

looks too good to be true
I was drawn in by the slim design, the 120W rating, and the convenience. I bought two of them, one for my old Sony VAIO and one for my new Asus M6Ne. They worked for about 8 months. Like some others here, I broke 2 tips in that time, just by lightly bumping into the plug while it was plugged into the laptop. The build quality of the tips is ridiculously bad. Also their connections are so loose, they were always disconnecting from the adapter cable unexpectedly.

A couple weeks ago, one of the adapters burned out while I was away on a trip. I had two hours of life on the battery and then I was stuck. A couple days later the other adapter died while running my other laptop. As others have said, Targus customer support is totally miserable. I tried to get RMA#s for both of the units, but after rounds of pointless emails back and forth ("what's the nature of the problem? what kind of laptop? blah blah blah") I'm just tossing them in the trash.

I found the Fellowes model 98448. It's only rated for 70W, which is just about enough (my laptops each need about 65W) and so again I bought two of them. The build quality is much better, the tips are rock solid on the cables and won't pop out accidentally.
I've only been using them for a few days, but so far so good.

Don't ever buy it!!!
I bought this item for my hp pavilion laptop. On the original package it's writen that it's compatible. However after using it only a couple of months, it suddenly stopped working. I called the company and they told me that it was written wrong on the package. They accepted their mistake but they would not do anything about it! They are still selling this product in the market although the information on the package is wrong! The customer support of this company is useless...Do not trust and buy this item! it's just waste of money!

Save your money!!!!
I have only owned one product(APD10US)from Targus and I will not buy another adapter product from them.I had this unit approximately 6 months and rarely used it when it quit working.At the time, my battery was shot (the reason I needed an Auto/Air adapter in the first place) and I lost my complete spreadsheet that I had been working on while flying back from Las Vegas.After this happened, I was so frustrated that I decided not to go through the hassle of getting a replacement. No more cheap adapters for me.After doing extensive research the second time around, I bought a LIND(3 year warranty)instead back in March of last year and it has worked just fine (with lots of usage).Mainly accessing the internet through WiFi hotspots using my wireless card on my notebook. Compare the warranties on each company before you buy.I hope this information will help you make the right decision the first time.

Look can be decieving, I owned it for only 5 min
This is what happened when you don't believe the review.

I'm intrigued by the look that appear on the web of this product and found a great deal at compusua. They sold it for $49.99, I rushed order and picked it up, afraid that it's special price won't last long.

The minute I saw it, yuck !, you can see the bad quality built even in the package. The plastic, the connector, the labels, all of it... yuck. It looks so good on the web.

Then well, it's such a good price, I'll try. I haven't left Compusa and tried several time in my car with Sony T150, wait and wait. Read the manual and find out what've I done wrong. It's still not providing any electricity to my notebook.

The adapter is such and ugly and awkward design. I don't know why it has to go so wide sideway. This is not a door key that you need a wing span to torque open something. It's hitting my protruding battery of T150 and it's just so so so ugly.

So, I went right back and exchange it for Kensington 33501 which look much better, better plastic quality, a bit pricey (in store $79.99) but the most important. It works right away - oop, haven't read the manual yet.

BTW. This is the 2nd Targus brand that I found common features(the other one is Bluetooh minimouse) - bad quality built, expensive, not working (or partially working). I guess no more Targus brand for me.

Excelent wireless solution for both desktop and laptop pc's
When I first thought about buying this mouse, I wasn't impressed by the reviews. Most of them spoke bad about it and pointed a lot of weaknesses. But I decided to buy it anyway, since I had a friend at work who had one and was very pleased with it. The one I bought came with the cradle and I must admit that it's very useful, since you can charge the batteries when the mouse is not in use and also you can plug the receiver and keep working.
The mouse is very accurate and precise, the blue led from the receiver is nice to look at and, to tell you the truth,it doesn't bother me at all or distract me, like some people said it would.
My recomendation is: if you want a wireless pointing solution for your laptop, go for this one. It works fine and it's a lot smaller than some from other brands.
I paied 54.90€ for the whole pack and must say that I'm very happy with my purchase! Great value for money!

Great so Far
I bought this mouse for use with my Laptop. It installed without a hitch on XP and Windows 2000. My only negative comment would be that the wheel is a little "spongy" and has a little more play before registering a click - not the well defined click of my usual MS Intellipoint.

The range is at least 3 foot - as advertised. I haven't noticed any drop outs. The unit does operate on 2 AA batteries and I'm not sure how long these will last. According to the manual there is an optional USB charging station but having talked with Targus this isn't available for 4 months. If you have to carry around the charging station I'm also not all that sure how portable this makes the whole unit.

My recommendation. Great for the money (about $75AU or $40US) that I paid for it. Fits well in the hand. Smooth operation on just about any surface. Very happy so far.

Great improvement over the previous model
This new model is much better than the older unit. The greatest improvement is the on/off switch and power saving functions. The old version would only save batteries when it was left still, which never happens when it's in my bag and always ended up taking the batteries out which was a real pain.

I do not find the switch hard to use as some people have indicated. I have short nails and stubby fingers, but I have no problems with it. It's designed to not be accidentally switched off.

I use 700mAh NiMH rechargable batteries in the mouse and it's been a week now and I haven't had to change them with moderate use. I also find it comfortable to hold and pleasing to look at (important with laptops I think.)

The wheel rolls silently, but the clicking could be a little quieter since it is a laptop mouse that you may want to use in a classroom or boardroom.

The bendable usb adapter is a nice addition and I would recommend this mouse to anyone. I have used it successfully in Windows XP Pro, Gentoo Linux and FreeBSD.

This mouse is terrible
I got this mouse because it is small and easy for travel, however it has many technical difficulties. The battery cover is complicated and hard to remove, the usb reciver blinks when ever you use the mouse, the off/on button is very small and frustrating, and much more. overall....DO NOT BUY THIS MOUSE AND WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Wireless presenter
Unfortunately this item tries to do too many things and that is its downfall. The laser is not bright enough and drains the 2xAA batteries (would'nt last more than a day's meeting). The wireless mouse is difficult to control and will not replace a regular mouse - the only good feature is the powerpoint control for slide advancement and reversal- works great for that with the two neatly placed buttons. However, if you happen to touch the large central menu button (hard to avoid because of its size and central location) it reverses to "mouse mode" - the two buttons turn to right and left mouse buttons- result the slides will not then advance- if this happens during your presentation- takes some figuring out!

THe poor battery life, weak laser and large and wrongly placed menu button make this an undesirable item- coupled with the fact that my first one blew out its circuit after 8 months (4 weeks for replacement and UPS costs)makes it an unrecommendable item. ... Read more

instant laptop
This keyboard turns a PDA into a poor man's laptop. If most of what you need it for is document driven, it's fantastic. I can type almost as fast as on my desktop, and with Wordsmith (an inexpensive but pretty powerful word processing program), I can create full length documents to review. Niceties such as spell checking and grammar (etc) can be done after syncing with a PC. I've been using this as a substitute for a pad at some meetings.

A couple of caveats. I've seen some reviews that say that the Stowaway will work on your lap. I wouldn't advise it. The parts feel rather delicate--particularly the connection point. Use a table or, if you think you'll be doing lots of lap typing, go with GOTYPE. If space is a concern and you normally have meetings at tables, then this should be fine. (Moreover, there's a "gee whiz" factor to consider. The thing is just cool). Second, because of the small screen, one can write long documents, but it becomes tedious to read them. Bookmarking functions ameliorate this problem, but don't cure it.

Still, it's obvious that a lot of thought went into the design of this product, and it pays off. The keys have good tactile response, and the function and shortcut keys were well thought out. If you have the cash and the inclination, definitely worth the money.

With a Toshiba 3755
I think the above 5 Star reviews are accurate. My caveates are:
1) no page down, but the cursor/fn shortcuts are adequate.
2) tiny right side shift key (req. pinky)
3) broken up space key requires using left or right finger tip
4) driver CD locks up computer, but the Targus.com site installed the drivers effortlessly.

Pros:
1) Infrared error free and hopefully low-battery consumption
2) Folds up nicely, with care required for most Chinese plastics (apparently Clinton did not 'share' our plastic technology)
3) Price . . . as affordable (through Amazon) as a standard KB
4) Ample preloaded shortcuts

Conclusion: This is an inexpensive accessory for your PDA/Toshiba PPC which turns your palm device into a subnotebook. Like any non-standard keyboard, it takes some adapting, but its accuracy will dispell the intitial adjustment.

Suggestions to Targus:
Only two - 1) hinge/slideout a Symantec Touchpad and replace the cursor with a 4-way toggle plus page up/down, end, home keypad. They can be reduced in size to fit, as they are not a usual touchtype item. And 2) Figure out a way to make the space keys raised and spring loaded for using our thumb.

IR beam arm is almost imposible to align on a Toshiba e755
The rotating wand arm must be aligned to the infrared port of the PDA. The arm rotates 210 degrees but the sender can only point directly to the pivot point. The adjustable arms are laughingly flimsy. As a result I can only get it to work if I hold the pda in my right hand directly above the ir arm. Then it works great but it's an utterly unworkable solution. Instead of a rotating arm which makes the angle wrong. Why not a sliding arm so that it is always at a right angle?

Compatible with HP products but has several trojan horses
Certainly as it claims, a universal keyboard or atleast compatible with HP IPAQ models 2200 and above. The keyboard does have a smooth response, i.e. no elf effect and yes cursor keys though absent are substituted with func+mouse. however, here is the biggest flaw in the device. since the device is folded in half to conserve space, the spacebar is split into two and is not that easy to handle. if you use your left thumb to hit the spacebar like me, there is a possiblity that you will often miss the key alltogether, but nevertheless, you can land on the key with a little practise. now if you use your right thumb, may the force be with you! the spacebar button is way outside the range of your right thumb and unless you dont mind shifting your entire hand an inch everytime you need to type, this is ok. the keyboard does take a little getting used to, especially if you have used a laptop most of your life where the base of your palm is resting at the level or above the level of your keys. i cant say much for regular keyboard users. here is something that you might try which will ease your learning curve and improve typing speed: place a thin support, some notepad or book about a quarter inch thick below the base of your palm and provide some support for your elbows while typing.

frankly, the keyboard deserves more than a 3 but the reason i bought it was to make quick electronic notes on my pocket pc in classrooms without having to carry my laptop, but really its not that much of a miracle solution i was hoping for. another word of caution, the word documents created and saved on your pocketpc are not compatible with your regular ms office word program. i suggest creating a blank document on your computer and move it to the pocketpc and then type in it or you will not be able to edit the document on your pc. ... If you have a Sony Vaio with the 16.1" screen, this is the laptop case for you. It is lightweight and that will help since the Sony GRX series already weighs 8 lbs. There aren't many cases that will fit the 14"x11.5" dimensions of the Sony PCG-GRX laptops. Targus also makes a leather case which is very nice but it is quite a bit heavier. Targus does not issue drivers for my Viewsonic v37
It worked OK for 2 months, but the KB kept on falling off. When I complained, I was told that the KB was not compatible with my Viewsonic v37. Yet, it was advertised as compatible with the VS PPC 2002. The worse came when I upgraded to PPC2003 and the KB stopped working. I contacted Targus and was told that they do not have plans for upgrading their KB drivers for this VS PPC.
I do not believe that this should be permitted. If you sell something, stand behind it.

Very disappointing.

I miss my stowaway
I bought this as a replacement for my stowaway when I replaced my Palm m105 with an HP IPAQ. The palm-stowaway combination was an excellent portable alternative to my laptop and I used in nearly every day.After my positive experience I expected my new IR keyboard to function the same way.What a dissapointment! I can forgive the large size of the keyboard but there are several aspects of this keyboard that have made it intolerable to me. I found the keys did not always respond leaving me with multiple errors to fix in every paragraph and the split space bar has been a constant source of irritation, I usually hit the solid piece of plastic in the middle instead of one of the keys.The little plastic arms on the stand do not hold the PDA at all securely, even bumping the table can knock it off, and I have taken to using an elastic band to keep my IPAQ in place. The "mouse" arrowpad is a nice idea but does not justify the loss of the arrow keys. Finally the backlight does not stay on while using the keyboard and there is no backlight control on the keyboard (unlike the stowaway). I will be replacing this keyboard with another after a much more careful search.

Best $80 I ever spent on portable electronics
I got one of these a few years ago.It's been to several countries, on camping trips, bicycle trips, subways, etc etc and held together very well.I pop this and the handspring into my pocket and off I go, not lugging around a huge laptop anymore.

The typing is comfortable, this is just like a laptop keyboard, and while I too have worried about the little popup part where you connect the handspring, it's taken a beating so far.I'm buying another preemptively because I'll be so bummed when I do eventually manage to break the current one.

The hinge in the middle is annoying - you have to put the thing on a book or other flat surface to hold it in your lap.I think that when the new one comes, I'll try to create some kind of deadbolt mechanism to hold the middle hinge when it's open and then it will be the single most perfect gadget ever.

Love it...
As a reporter, I decided to buy this keyboard because I was always taking notes at meetings.I would highly recommend it.I used it w/ my IPAQ, and it's lasted two years without ever having to replace the battery.After using it for a couple years, I've found it easier to type on then a regular keyboard.Takes a little getting used to at first.

My only complaint is that it just randomly stopped working a couple times.Considering it happened only three times in two years, it's not too bad.Like I said, I really love mine and would recommend it to anyone else.

Not Possible To Use with IPAQ HX 4705

Nice product!!!But it is too small for my Canon Powershot S1 IS. I just don't understand why these suppliers don't tell us the measurements of each case, it sure would save us and them time and money.

Not only the rolling case is great both in storage and functionality, but also TARGUS is a great company, I've owned an Easy roller for 3 years now and it withstand all the use and abuse that a frequent traveller can inflict to a Computer case, until finally the extensible handle broke (just the plastic grip) i've contacted targus in france took the case to their office, and in less than two weeks, no questions, no charges i've received at home a brand new one from the manufacturer.

TTL500 - Corrects Error in Posted Review

F. is for a TTL300 case which does not have the expanded compartments the TTL500 does.Previous review is on the money for the small case.The TTL500 has all those features and a significant added pocket that can carry a portable printer, a work binder, or a thin projector.The TTl500 also has an expanding portfolio file section for letter sized folders.Nice package and storage for 4 lbs.Well constructed.

A light, slim, and well made case
I just got this case a week ago for a new 14.1" laptop, and so far I've been very pleased.I had four main requirements: good protection, top-loading, light weight, and slim.So far, this case has met all of these requirements.

My previous case was for a larger laptop and had a built-in portfolio.I found that I rarely used the portfolio, and that it just added extra size and weight.This case, combined with a light laptop, is no longer a chore to carry around.The slim size also makes it easier to handle.

This model is equipped with the air padding.These are removable foam-filled air pockets that fit along the bottom and sides of the case.They have tiny vents in them to allow the air to escape slowly to absorb any shock, and the foam will push them back out to their normal shape.The system seems like it will work, but I haven't had any occasion to test it.

The construction seems to be of good quality.All the seams seem to be well sewn, with no loose threads.The bottom has three plastic feet to help balance it when its standing.All the fittings seem solid and secure.

This case doesn't have a ton of extra room.It is designed to be a small case for carrying the computer and a few accessories.This meets my needs very well, but if you need to carry more than the bare essentials, I would recommend a larger case. ... Read more

loud and defective
i have a toshiba satellite 2405, and the adapter that came with my notebook died yesterday after serving me well for almost 3 years. so this morning i went to best buy and got the targus APA10US adapter. after i set it up, i discovered it makes a shrill, static-y sound that i could hear from the next room! so i returned it and got another one, hoping that it was a flaw with the specific adapter i got. turns out i was wrong -- the new one has the exact same problem! it's going back tomorrow, as well. oh, and the tip fits very badly. move the notebook or adapter even slightly, and the connection is lost... terrible, terrible product.

looks too good to be true
I was drawn in by the slim design, the 120W rating, and the convenience. I bought two of them, one for my old Sony VAIO and one for my new Asus M6Ne. They worked for about 8 months. Like some others here, I broke 2 tips in that time, just by lightly bumping into the plug while it was plugged into the laptop. The build quality of the tips is ridiculously bad. Also their connections are so loose, they were always disconnecting from the adapter cable unexpectedly.

A couple weeks ago, one of the adapters burned out while I was away on a trip. I had two hours of life on the battery and then I was stuck. A couple days later the other adapter died while running my other laptop. As others have said, Targus customer support is totally miserable. I tried to get RMA#s for both of the units, but after rounds of pointless emails back and forth ("what's the nature of the problem? what kind of laptop? blah blah blah") I'm just tossing them in the trash.

I found the Fellowes model 98448. It's only rated for 70W, which is just about enough (my laptops each need about 65W) and so again I bought two of them. The build quality is much better, the tips are rock solid on the cables and won't pop out accidentally.
I've only been using them for a few days, but so far so good.

Don't ever buy it!!!
I bought this item for my hp pavilion laptop. On the original package it's writen that it's compatible. However after using it only a couple of months, it suddenly stopped working. I called the company and they told me that it was written wrong on the package. They accepted their mistake but they would not do anything about it! They are still selling this product in the market although the information on the package is wrong! The customer support of this company is useless...Do not trust and buy this item! it's just waste of money!

Save your money!!!!
I have only owned one product(APD10US)from Targus and I will not buy another adapter product from them.I had this unit approximately 6 months and rarely used it when it quit working.At the time, my battery was shot (the reason I needed an Auto/Air adapter in the first place) and I lost my complete spreadsheet that I had been working on while flying back from Las Vegas.After this happened, I was so frustrated that I decided not to go through the hassle of getting a replacement. No more cheap adapters for me.After doing extensive research the second time around, I bought a LIND(3 year warranty)instead back in March of last year and it has worked just fine (with lots of usage).Mainly accessing the internet through WiFi hotspots using my wireless card on my notebook. Compare the warranties on each company before you buy.I hope this information will help you make the right decision the first time.

Look can be decieving, I owned it for only 5 min
This is what happened when you don't believe the review.

I'm intrigued by the look that appear on the web of this product and found a great deal at compusua. They sold it for $49.99, I rushed order and picked it up, afraid that it's special price won't last long.

The minute I saw it, yuck !, you can see the bad quality built even in the package. The plastic, the connector, the labels, all of it... yuck. It looks so good on the web.

Then well, it's such a good price, I'll try. I haven't left Compusa and tried several time in my car with Sony T150, wait and wait. Read the manual and find out what've I done wrong. It's still not providing any electricity to my notebook.

The adapter is such and ugly and awkward design. I don't know why it has to go so wide sideway. This is not a door key that you need a wing span to torque open something. It's hitting my protruding battery of T150 and it's just so so so ugly.

So, I went right back and exchange it for Kensington 33501 which look much better, better plastic quality, a bit pricey (in store $79.99) but the most important. It works right away - oop, haven't read the manual yet.

BTW. This is the 2nd Targus brand that I found common features(the other one is Bluetooh minimouse) - bad quality built, expensive, not working (or partially working). I guess no more Targus brand for me.
