2-0 out of 5 stars Lacks
This keyboard is a decent ergonomic, but I would expect better for this price. Especially from Microsoft. It is nice that the feet to angle the keyboard are in the back as opposed to the front like many ergonomic keyboards. It is more comfortable that way. However, like many others have noted, the key layout of the arrow keys, the 6 keys above them, and the function keys (F1 - F12) are not the standard size/shape. This slows me down considerably. Also, the wrist rest is not removable or replacable. Overall Microsoft could have done a LOT better. Major thumbs down.

2-0 out of 5 stars Comfortable, but horrible layout
As a programmer, I can't stand that they changed the layout of the center row (ins, del, pgup, pgdn), slowing me down considerably, as well as the arrow keys (too small & awkward).

NOT recommended if you have to switch between keyboards (at home/work).

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Deal!
This keyboard is value priced and works great. My first Natural keyboard had stiff keys, but these are perfect. The only thing I wish it had was volume control, but I think that the more expensive version does have that feature. All in all, I think this keyboard give you great value for the money. I bought 2 -- one for home and one for work.

1-0 out of 5 stars Never again !!!!
I had one of these and sold it because of the key arrangements that are mentioned in other reviews. If you like swearing a lot then this keyboard is for you! If you are a touch typist then my advice is to stay away from this one and get a PRO version. The best advice is to test drive a new ergonomic keyboard at a computer store before buying it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome Keyboard!
I have to admit that I love my Natural Keyboard "Pro" version I bought many years ago. (...)

This keyboard has a smaller footprint, is light, and very very quiet, exactly what I was looking for. Also, it is a basic keyboard with nothing more than the normal keyboard keys so a special driver is not needed for the Elite.

Once again, awesome keyboard! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Fast speeds, Small footprint, Good Enough Quality
I expect to get a DSL/Cable with 4-port switch with built in firewall when I pay for a product that claims to be that. Well I got what I expected plus more. Not only am I able to assign my own firewall rules and parental controls but I am able to schedule those by day and time. As an example I could setup the firewall to allow any program that requires certain ports to be open to use (i.e. WinMX, Online Games, etc.) to work on a specific IP address but only until 10pm so my kids aren't up all night playing games, and sharing files. You can also set a schedule for the parental controls so that certain URLs or URLs with keywords you designate can't be accessed until after 11pm/when the kids are asleep. This is a very nice feature that I didn't know I was going to be able to use. There are a ton of features here that you wouldn't expect to get for a router that is priced this low. I am very surprised and pleased with this router.

1-0 out of 5 stars Overheats, then fails
I have had two DLink routers and both have died from overheating. I use my router every day, about 3-5 hours altogether, only doing normal web surfing and minimal to moderate downloading. The first router completely failed, had lasted about 2 years so I thought it had a good run. Bought another Dlink, because hey they *are* cheap. It's been a little over a year and the thing is overheating just like the first one. You can feel the heat just rising off the cheap plastic box. It works intermittenly and will probably fail completely soon. Besides spending money twice on something that died so easily, I had ALWAYS had trouble with the advanced features such as opening up ports and even using the DMZ feature. I could never get my router to open up correctly to outside traffic. I'm going to go with a Linksys, hoping it will last me a little longer and will perform more reliably.

1-0 out of 5 stars d-link more like d-junk
I got this little router some time ago, from an online store to set up a home network for the family. I got it because it was cheap and its 4-ports and 100Mbps speed would be adequate for our needs. We have a Ameritech DSL connection, which works just great by itself to my mom's PC. Now, I am an experienced and trained computer technician, and know how to set up networks. However, once I set up our three-computer network a day ago and put this router in it, it has been a real nightmare from the first second. I cannot share files or access other computers on my home network. The firewall is tricky and a nightmare--it blocks access for file sharing. The web-based configuration is nice, but it could be a little bit more streamlined, plus better and more documentation for it would help. Now for the big bummer---about every hour to 2 hours, my computer's connection to the router will freeze up. Yesterday evening it happened 4 TIMES and I had to restart the router each time. (Finally after the last lockup, only having used it for less than 24 hrs I just yanked the power plug out and unplugged all my cables) I had first thought it was my cables, I redid them to make sure they were perfect but the problem still happened even when I tested and certified the cables. I then realized it is not my computer, my modem, or my cables, it is that little box they labeled a "router"! I am very unsatisified with this cheap plastic and silicon box. Also the D-Link sticker on the bottom appears to be counterfeit--it showed only the D-link & FCC logos and model number, but NO serial number,MAC number, or Firmware number! It has the look of having been quickly put together by some dumb schmuck who just wanted to make a fast buck, as I found out later it was a "refurbished" model!! I am also appalled at the lack of print manuals and no paper proof of guarantee or warranty was issued with it. Also I applied for the rebates given AND NEVER got it! Plus the weird thing is that the Acrobat manual showed the newer version (the Rev. E, which is gray and blue) of the DI-604 while the one I had was the older all-gray model (Rev. A,B, or C--take your pick I don't know mine because of that blank sticker!)! Also, it overheats really good and i could feel the heat on the plastic cover! There is no heatsink on the processor inside. Now, my DSL modem does not ever feel like that, even in the midst of running both an AIM session, a huge 50MB download, and browsing a webpage. I am going to toss this defective router, and will NEVER EVER again buy computer parts and equipment from online "stores" (this is the second time in my life I have been ripped off by vendors) or from D-Junk, er D-Link! From now on I will go with Linksys, which all my tech friends say is best for home networking.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best non-wireless router ever
I originally bought this sucker because it came with a free ethernet cable. Eventually, I liked it so much that I bought another one at my local electronics store. This product totally exceeded my original expectations. I thought it was just a vanilla router - it was certainly cheaper than a lot of others. However, this baby is VERY configurable.

It's also a must if you're running an internet or ftp server. It allows you to have some computers be accessible to the outside while keeping your other computers safe with its firewall software. This is also great for online gaming as router firewalls can sometimes be a problem.

As a bonus, this baby has the software for connecting XBoxes if you want to have an Xbox lan party or use the XBox Live Software. I haven't used this aspect of it, but it does mention that it's compatible.

4-0 out of 5 stars Options Galore
The D-Link 604 is a nice piece of hardware. Whether for cable/dsl connection, you'll get an easy connection. My network was setup using a D-link within a D-link and everything still worked fine.

Update the firmware, and you'll notice a lot more options opened up. The only problem I have with it is that AIM's direct connect doesn't seem to work. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Deal
I don't write many reviews but this webcam deserves one. Great price, excellent picture, good color and contrast. It beats many more expensive products and is certainly far superior to some of the Logitech products out there. I'm running a 2.4 gig machine with 512kb memory, Windows XP Pro, which of course did not recognize the driver compatibility but installed without a hitch anyway. This webcam works great with the software bundle it comes with, and it is an above average bundle at that. Works out of the box with Yahoo Messenger and Windows Messenger, no problem at all. Total installation time about 10 minutes. My only complaint would be that the stand for a flat panel monitor include some type of device that allowed for a firm attachment. I suppose a little velcro or tape would solve that problem. Other than that, you cannot go wrong with this purchase. Creative has another winner with this one.

3-0 out of 5 stars Poor performance...
Some preliminary comments based on my first few days with the "Creative Labs PD1130 WebCam NX Pro"...

* Installation - Straightforward and easy on Win2K Pro. Nicely integrated live shot of the cameras view in the install process, which builds early confidence that the device is working.

* Form factor - As others have noted, the three legged base is dicey on flat services (desk, top of CRT). It does, however, work quite well hinged to a laptop (or for you fortunate souls, your flat screen).

* Functionality - Bundled software provides all the basic necessities (still picture, video, scheduled monitoring + configuration)

* Performance - This is where the device is letting me down (hence the three stars for an otherwise positive experience). I'm seeing significant latency locally (~1.5 seconds) and extreme latence/dropouts via Yahoo & MSN messenger (below 1 FPS at 320x240) over a DSL connection (both sides) on a P3 box w/ 512MB RAM and Win2K SP3. I've tried, I believe, every option, with no improvement.

This would be (or will be) a five star product if I can work the performance issue out. As it is, it's on a path to being returned.

3-0 out of 5 stars It's Okay... But
It is an okay webcam for the price. I am just use to a webcam and microphone all in one like Logitech Webcams. Creative Labs have some good stuff and I have never had any issues with their sound card either... I believe they need more work with the cam if they are planning on being their with Logitech...

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic !!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars In short terms - Simple, reliable and fast!!
I prepared myself for trouble after reading some of the horror stories in regards to setting up wireless networks, but was pleasant surprised. I first hooked up the NetGear WGR614 router to our DSL modem (no configuration needed. The WGR614 wireless router is a DHCP server to your network and client to the ISP so it manages hooking your network together and then al of it to the web automatically). After the router was up and running with my PC, I installed this card with the simple and brief descriptions included on my wifes laptop and it automatically linked to the wireless access point of the router. The whole affair took about 15 minutes without any configuration need. This set up is TRULY plug-and-play.....a day later I had our computers hooked into a nice little home-LAN with print and file sharing on Windows XP. Connection speed varies and is only at 100% in the same room and close to the router. However we still have fully sufficient connection speed on the deck and in the basement office of my wife. Even at 50% connection, the g-standard network transfers at 15 to 20 Mbps....fast enough and way faster than the b-standard at only 10Mbps. Besides, the Netgear equipment is small and has an excellent design and not as flashy as the competition. RECOMMENDED !!

5-0 out of 5 stars Just make sure you download the latest driver
I just purchased the WG511 with the WGR614 from Netgear. And I've just ordered the WG311 for the Pc (don't ask, but the router is only connectable to the cable modem). So the system works BUT

The driver for the WG511 out of the box is from Feb 03 (version 1.0.6.31). There is a more uptodate one (1.6) on netgear's web-site. Install the driver from the CD and then run the updated driver (REPAIR option). Throughput rate is improved and NO dropped signals anymore.

I installed on WinXP Pro - follow the instructions to the letter, but you will not end up with interface shown in the manual (I guess this is XP - that's what netgear claims). You cannot configure anything (if you want to run wide open, that's ok) - viewing only (which is useful). I thought that I would have to setup the channel (which I had reset on the router from the factory default), but the WG511 is smart enough to hone into the channel.

All configuration (and this is mainly WEP stuff) is through control panel->network. Highlight the wireless network and right-click->properties. You can now configure WEP (you should have done the router side first, before doing the client).

I have gone and WEP protected the router->client comms and changed the password on the router (default password="password"):). The WGR614 documentation is pretty good.

5-0 out of 5 stars WOW!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish I had bought this wireless PC Card a long time ago! This has made sharing a network connection and printer between my laptop and home computer very easy. The 54Mbps that is rated for this product has been pretty consistent at no less than 40Mbps at a signal strength no less than 82%. This is pretty good considering the signal has to travel through the walls of an old home with lath and plaster at distances up to 50-60 feet away. I have also purchased the Netgear WGR614 Wireless Router and use a wired connection for the home computer. To sum up I would definitely recommend this setup for anyone setting up a network.

4-0 out of 5 stars fast card, great price, but not ready for WPA
This card is a vast improvement over my previous 802.11b 11mbps D-Link (POS) card with the Netgear WGR614 router. The price is good and the 3 year warranty (with online registration) can't be beat. I bought this card for 2 reasons, it was cheapest 54g card and it "supports" WPA security. However, at this time none of Netgear's version 2.x drivers that were written to support WPA work. So you can't even get basic, unsecured connectivity with this version of the driver. Even if you apply the Microsoft patches for XP to support WPA, the Netgear's drivers are still required for the install, so you're still hosed. Netgear states that this will be fixed in the next driver release, hopefully soon.

But if you aren't concerned about better wireless security/encryption, WEP with MAC address access control works without a hitch.

All tech support calls are routed to India, but support none the less, has been very good.

2-0 out of 5 stars Pay for tech support
I just found out that after 90 days Netgear wouldn't provides tech support unless you pay for the service. I then called Linksys to see if their policy is the same as Netgear. Linksys said they will support all product as long as you own them. Please beware and call before you buy any Netgear products. It is bad business in technology if you don't support after 90 days. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Good laptop companion
This is my first wireless mouse and I'm very happy with the product. It's much more convenient to use then a corded option, and its size is a bonus if you regularly pack and unpack your office (even for desktops you notice how much less real estate is taken up without having to worry about the wiring). When I pulled it out of the case it felt too small and light, but once the batteries are loaded it's got a very good size/weight ratio. Ambidextrous shape feels good.

I'll occasionally get some interference with the wireless connection talking to my work laptop, but the computer at home hasn't had the same problems. You should purchase some rechargeable batteries and keep them around as backup - the power indicator drops from good to critical without allot of notice. Keeping the mouse "on" most of the day gives you around three weeks of steady use. As previous reviews noted, the buttons are on the stiff side, but not so much as to be noticeable after a regular day of use.

Also, an excellent scroll mechanism. It's notched but has a very smooth and sensitive response. You can also customize it as a third button for double clicks, etc. Makes it annoying to go back to mice without this option.

5-0 out of 5 stars One computer device that works like it should
I purchased this mouse when I transitioned from my old desktop into a new laptop. I was just looking for a way to help keep the cord clutter down to a minimum. Logitech is a brand name that I've grown to trust in the past however, this devise has far exceeded my expectations in every way. First is the design the mouse, it is large enough to cup into the hand reducing finger and wrist strain. Second is battery life, I have run consistently everyday for at least two months before changing the battery and when the battery started to go it was noticeable with out be obtrusive, meaning I could limp along for a little till I found the chance to run to the store. Thirdly is it's connection strength to the computer, most of the time when I plug the USB device in to my machine it automatically connects to the mouse, no pressing the connect button. Fourth is the size of the receiver, wow is it small and it all fits into the zipped pouch that comes with the mouse. Lastly is the optical sensor, I've run this mouse on all kinds of surfaces, white melamine, photographs, and my couch cushions, every time it is precise and fast. This is one purchase is am thoroughly pleased with.

5-0 out of 5 stars Logitech you've done it again!
This mouse is a great laptop mouse. Before this i got a targus mouse which had a few technical difficulties so i got this mouse. This mouse is small, easy to install, and it is a plud in and play mouse...unlike other mice when you hafta restart the computer. This is the best wireless mouse for the best price

4-0 out of 5 stars Best mouse I've ever owned.
(Revision: after a while, a mechanical problem developed when I didn't fully lift my finger off a mouse click and it thought the click was complete. This lead to many misclicks, inappropriate double-clicks, and other problems. Still a great mouse... you can't avoid problems in one out of a million mice).

This mouse is by far the best accessory I have for my laptop. There are a lot of reviews citing the USB connector as too stiff or sticking out too much, but let me tell you: it is better than the bulky connectors other manufacturers make. Here are my other comments, in list form:

1. The mouse is stylish and solid. With the batteries in it is a nice weight and doesn't feel flimsy.

2. Battery life. I use two rechargeable AA batteries that I have not charged since I bought the mouse about a month ago. The on/off switch on the bottom is a great feature. I had to get used to the concept of turning my mouse off when I wasn't using it, but once I did I realized I was saving battery life with little effort.

3. The cordless receiver and the mouse fit great into the included carrying case; one of the best features of this mouse for people on the run.

4. The range is great. Once you go to a cordless mouse, especially this one, you will never go back to one with a cord.

5. Setup was a snap. I never touched any drivers on any computer. After less than a minute of detection in Windows XP it worked without a hitch. When I connected it to my PowerMac with Mac OS X, it worked within seconds. Truly seamless.

6. Great laptop accessory. I bought a desktop replacement (17" screen) laptop computer because I needed performance, processor power, and graphics precision. It is hard to do graphics with the included touch pad, but as soon as I plug in this mouse, I have an instant mobile desktop. It enhances mobile performance with a smile.

In summary, I haven't bought any other cordless mice to compare because I don't need to. If you get this mouse, you won't regret it.

5-0 out of 5 stars No Regrets, Excellent Cordless Mouse!
Great accessory to have for laptop users. I have used this mouse with my laptop for approximately 3 weeks now. I chose a wireless laptop mouse because it means that there is one less cord in the way.

Pro's:
1. Logitech is a name that you can trust. I expect no manufacturing defects or problems. It feels like a quality product.
2. Works on a number of surfaces.
3. Great battery power. This mouse is not a power hog. The on and off switch, located on the bottom of the mouse is a great feature. I have yet to change the batteries out yet.
4. Excellent wireless performance. I have had no issues with the mouse not performing because it is wireless. Unless you expect to use your laptop from more than 3 feet away (which pretty much means you wont be able to see the text on the monitor), you shouldnt have any problems.
5. Convenient travel pouch where you can store the USB receiver and the mouse.
6. Perfect size - the mouse is not too small, and not too big. Instead of being awkward and taking time to get used to, a person can use it right away.

Con's:
1. USB dongle sticks out a bit more than I expected. My USB ports are on the back of my laptop and when the USB receiver for the mouse is plugged in, it sticks out approximately 2.25 inches.
2. As mentioned in other reviews, the feel of this mouse is a bit stiff. I use my mouse in a classroom setting and everytime I click, the whole classroom can hear it.
3. The mouse is pretty heavy with the batteries loaded in it, but you cant really cite that as a fault. The mouse does need power to run. I just put it here to let you know.

Conclusion: Excellent mouse that performs as promised. I have no regrets with this purchase and would definately recommmend to others. ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description

The affordable, ergonomic Olympus D-535 digital camera makes it easy and fun to capture the memories of your life with its easy-to-use one-button, one-function operation. It features a 3.2-megapixel resolution, 3x optical zoom, built-in pop-up flash, 12 MB internal memory and XD Picture Card compatibility, and a movie mode with sound that can capture as much video as your memory card can handle.

Optics and Resolution
The 1/2.7-inch CCD captures 3.2-megapixel images for printed enlargements up to 11 x 17 inches. Image resolutions include: 2048 x 1536 (3 MP), 1600 x 1200 (2 MP), and 640 x 480. The lens, which is seated in the top-right corner of the camera's front, has a 5.8-17.4mm focal range (35-105mm equivalent in 35mm photography) with an f2.9 to f5.0 aperture range. The camera has a 3x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom for a total 12x zoom.

Movie Mode
The camera's QuickTime Movie Mode (at 15 frames per second, or fps) without sound can be used to make mini movies limited only by the amount of available memory (internally or externally). It features the following movie resolutions: 320 x 420 and 160 x 120.

  • Exposure compensation: +/- 2 EV (exposure value)steps in 1/3 EV steps
  • Flash modes: auto, red-eye reduction, fill-in, and off
  • Self timer of up to 12 seconds

Storage and Transfer
Images are stored either within the 12 MB internal memory or on optional XD memory cards. The XD card's small size, about the same as a postage stamp, helps to keep the camera size down. The internal 12 MB memory will store approximately 14 images at 2048 x 1536 pixels (at HQ, JPEG setting) without sound. Images can be downloaded to either a Mac or PC via USB 1.1 connectivity.

Direct Printing
The D-535 is PictBridge compatible, which enables you to transfer pictures from your digital camera to a compatible printer (such as the Olympus P-10), without a PC or image-editing software. All PictBridge devices share three basic features: camera-to-printer connecting, single-image printing, and uniform error messages (in case something goes wrong).

Power and Size
This camera is powered by 2 AA batteries (alkalines supplied; NiMH rechargeables recommended). It measures 3.4 x 2.5 x 1.5 inches (WxHxD) and weighs 4.9 ounces without battery or media card.

5-0 out of 5 stars The best for graphic artists
I've used just about every pointing device available. Trackpoints are the worst. Touchpads are pretty bad, difficult to control, and you keep scrolling in areas and clicking on things that you never intended. Mice are okay, except (among other things) that fairly often I have observed people (including myself) clicking and missing--the pointer was on the target, but when you released the left button, you twitched and so nothing happens. Also, mice will wear you out after a while; I find a lot of muscle tension at the end of a day. Trackballs avoid these problems. With these devices, when you've got the pointer exactly where you want it, take your thumb off the ball and then click--this is especially good for novices. Trackballs generally give greater control and, when it comes to moving the pointer across the screen, just a tiny thumb movement takes you from corner to corner (if you adjust the motion properly in the control panel).

The Logitech Cordless Trackman Wheel is the best trackball I've seen, and I've owned a bunch of them. It has all the features mentioned above and is very ergonomic and relaxing to use. When I cruise the internet, I sit almost motionless, concentrating totally on the information being displayed. Oddly enough, I do recommend playing some solitaire to develop the unconscious feel for the device. One nice feature (a point of distinction): this device uses radio frequency communication and does not require line of sight. I have used it on a table in the middle of the room, the desk being against the wall, without problem (I have a fairly large monitor).

Could the Logitech be improved? Yes. There's room for another button under the ring finger. The scroll wheel could be a little smoother (sometimes you move it one notch and nothing happens, but it's not a big deal, just move it another notch). Something that probably could not be improved is its apparent indestructability; it fell from my hand as I was changing batteries and, trying to catch it, wound up slamming it into the hardwood floor. I was somewhat awed to find that it still worked.

All in all, I recommend this pointing device above all others.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Trackball! (but needs more range)
I am a trackball fan from way back since I was first introduced to them by my physical therapist after having a shoulder operation that made moving my arm next to impossible. I find moving a mouse around a desk both clumsy and unnatural and just don't understand how people can accept them. This is my third trackball from Logitech and it is by far the best one I have had.(I gave the old ones to friends or family who are now converts to the trackball way!) It took a little while to get used to having the ball on the left side as opposed to the standard center position, but once I got used to using my thumb, things really flew. Set up was snap and the documentation was great. The design is very comfortable and the buttons and scroll wheel fall easily to hand. It has operated flawlessly for the year+ that I have owned it and I have only had to change the battery once in that time. The cordless feature works great and is a real boon to me because of my cluttered desk. Its RF signal does not interfere with my other IR controlled equipment(i.e. stereo and cordless keyboard). My only quibbles with this trackball (and the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5) is that it needs a greater range and they need to use ball bearings in the ball seat like their other trackballs. Right now I have to have the reciever within a foot or so of the trackball to work consistantly and it would be much more convenient if I could stick it someplace out of the way. Using ball bearings instead of the current nylon mounts in the ball seat would give the ball the super smooth action that their other trackballs have had and that I'm used to. In the end, I would certainly recommend this to anyone looking to make their computing a more pleasurable experience, but be warned...trackballs can be addictive!

5-0 out of 5 stars overall a great gadget
This leftie with "piano fingers" is very satisfied with the Logitech Cordless Trackman Wheel. I use it right-handed (and think of it as left-brain crosstraining). Ergonomically I find it very comfortable - my hand rests easily over the unit with the forefinger on the left button, middle finger on the wheel, and ring finger on the right button. The cordless connection works flawlessly in both the PS/2 and USB ports. I've noticed no degradation in response at four feet of separation even when I rest the Trackman on my knee and the signal has to pass through an oak desk to get to the receiver. In terms of comfort, the lack of wrist and finger movement required by the design itself is greatly enhanced by the ability to place the Trackman at any angle, level, or orientation. My favorite is on my thigh beneath the desk.

There is a bit of a learning curve if you've never used a Trackball device before. It's not unlike being used to driving a stick shift and then finding yourself in an automatic groping around for a non-existent clutch. For a while I caught myself instinctively sliding the Trackman in certain circumstances. But when you get it down, it is easier, more comfortable, and more efficient than mousework.

In terms of accuracy, I would say that with the proper configuration, it is just as accurate as a mouse. It takes some time to get used to the trackball and you may need to tweak the acceleration and speed settings until you find the right balance that works for you.

A couple things I'm not so crazy about:

The scroll wheel doubles as a programmable third button. It is so close in height to the left and right buttons and sandwiched so tightly between them that I find it difficult to use it as a button without inadvertently hitting the left or right click button (and I have long, skinny fingers).

And finally, if you're using this on a laptop with a built-in pointing device, you may not be able to fully tweak the Trackman settings if you run it through the PS/2 port. I got that warning when I set it up on my Thinkpad (with an integrated touchpad and trackpoint). Fortunately I had a free USB port I could dedicate to the remote receiver (the adapters you need for either the USB or PS/2 connection are included). So laptop users who don't have a free USB port may find that they are unable to fully configure the Trackman. This could be a problem because it's something you'll really want to get just right.

And skip the CD-ROM installation and just go to their website to register and download the latest version of the drivers and software

2-0 out of 5 stars The worst I have ever owned
This was the third Logitech trackball I've owned. Like the other reviewers, I am a lefty, however I am a righthanded mouser. My previous one was the TrackMan Vista which fit my hand like a glove and the buttons were in the exact right place when I put my hand on it in a natural position. I'd still be using it if the sensors hadn't worn out from age, use and dust.

This trackman was stiff to use and I had to keep shifting my hand to hit the buttons. It did not install easily and would not connect using the ps2 adaptor so I was forced to use the usb connector and for some reason that caused issues with activesync so that every time I put my pda in it's docking station - the cursor would freeze. Trying to get some real support from Logitech was a joke. I finally had enough after 4 days of this and went to a big box electronic store and ended up buying a Microsoft Optical Trackman Explorer. I am much happier as it is closer to the Vista than anything Logitech makes now. It loaded easier, is more responsive and doesn't cause the issues the Trackman Wheel did. The Logitech will be in my next garage sale if anyone is interested.

5-0 out of 5 stars Logitech got it right
I have had mine for years and it is still going strong. Never had a problem with it. If you like to only move your thumb this trackball is for you. Once you go trackball you don't go back. ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description

The Zen Micro digital music player from Creative Labs packs an incredible 5 GB of storage capacity into a shell small enough to sit comfortably in your jeans pocket. It also rides nicely in your hand, with a palm-fitting profile and thumb-friendly front-panel controls. It's a bit shorter than an Apple iPod Mini, yet its rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides 12 hours of continuous playback--50 percent more than iPod Mini's. The Zen Micro is compatible not merely with MP3s and WAV files, but with WMA as well. Toss in USB 2.0 connectivity and you're looking at one spiffy portable music player.

But playing isn't all the Zen Micro does. You can use it to receive FM radio (with 32 station presets to keep your favorites at the ready), and to record, either from the radio or from live sources such as voice dictation or lectures using the Zen Micro's built-in condenser microphone.

Trimmed in a luminescent blue glow and with easily visible backlit buttons, this stylish silver player holds up to 1,250 songs (83 hours) at 128 kbps or 2,500 songs (166 hours) at lower-fidelity 64 kbps (MP3/WMA)--that's a solid week's worth of music listening, never playing the same song twice. Compatibility with Microsoft's WMA compressed-audio format grants access to over 2 million downloadable songs offered promotionally or for sale online.

Perhaps the Zen Micro's coolest attribute is its DJ feature, which will shuffle not only all the songs you've loaded or all the songs in a given album, but, at your discretion, only the tracks you listen to most, or only those you rarely hear, taking the work out of selecting your favorites or hunting out all the music you're still getting to know.

Zen Micro's rechargeable battery is easy to replace.
For navigation, the device features a vertical, linear touchpad designed to make searching through songs or playlists easy, quick, and fun. The unit's blue, 160 x 104-pixel, electroluminescent LCD shows key functions and song details at a glance, and you can even customize the main menu to keep right at your fingertips the features that matter most to you.

Another of the Zen Micro's handy features is its personal organizer. You'll never forget an important anniversary with the onboard calendar, and it also includes a to-do list and a contacts list, all of which sync seamlessly with Microsoft Outlook (Outlook thus required for use of these features). In addition, the device offers a sleep timer and alarm so you can drift off to sleep to the strains of one playlist and wake to a completely different one.

The Zen Micro's removable battery is easy to swap with another fully charged battery (additional batteries sold separately), extending your listening by a half-day per swap.

By utilizing the 5.8 GHz frequency with digital transmission, the TRU8865-2 is able to offer a clearer signal and greater distance than traditional phones operating on lower analog bands.

Caller ID and call waiting compatible, the base unit holds up to 100 caller ID/memory locations in its internal memory, while each handset stores up to 50 locations, so you can keep track of incoming calls and store the most important phone numbers for easy recall. Handsets can be used in DirectLink (walkie-talkie) mode to communicate with other handsets on the system, while a baby monitoring mode lets you hear what's going on at another handset location.

Handset and ringer controls allow you to adjust volume levels to your liking, while an illuminated keypad makes dialing in poorly lit areas a snap. A page button makes finding a lost handset a breeze, and four-way conferencing lets you speak to multiple parties at once. Handset and base speakerphones allow you to communicate hands-free, while a call transfer function provides a way to route incoming calls to another handset.

The base unit is wall-mountable for added convenience, and each handset is headset compatible and comes with a belt clip. The TRU8865-2 also comes backed with a one-year limited warranty.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent feature-set
As others have noted, this phone system has an amazingly useful set of features. I'm replacing a very expensive Siemens system that has served me well for nearly 10 years, and it's taken that long to find a suitable replacement (which had to be 5.8MHz to avoid interference with LANs and other 2.4GHz devices I need to use).

One correction of a criticism in prior reviews -- One user noted that the numbers saved in Caller ID can't be dialed as saved. In fact, the phone will insert or remove the leading 1- for long-distance dialing just by pressing the "*/Tone/<" key, and it will insert or remove the area code by pressing the "#/>" key. This is handy, and it's too bad the annoyed reviewer didn't notice it in the manual (p. 53).

Transferring ALL numbers in the phone directory from one unit to another (base or remote) is absolutely essential if you're using it as a home phone, and I was relieved to confirm that it does this.

Unlike my excellent Siemens, the Uniden lets any remote perform call screening, so you can listen to incoming messages and pick up the call without sprinting (no pun intended) for the base unit.

I have not yet tested the transmission range. Hopefully it's at least a few hundred feet... The higher radio frequency (5.8GHz) means it's a bit more directional (line of sight) than the older phones. In any case, it works very well within my house, with no evidence of powerline or other interference. The sound quality is much better than average.

Having each handset operate as a small speakerphone is also a big plus, especially when reviewing voicemail.

I'm delighted to have a small red LED on each handset to indicate when there are unread messages. With 5 handsets in my house, it's very useful to NOT have to connect to the base to check if there are new messages. You can disable this LED, or go a step further and have the handsets/base beep every 15 seconds as well. Another thoughtful voicemail feature -- if you try to delete all messages, it won't do so if any of them are still unread.

The phone fully supports the new Call Waiting Deluxe features offered by some phone companies -- you get to choose what happens to an incoming call while you're on another call.

Room monitoring is better than on the Siemans -- you can choose which handset (or base) does the monitoring, and which does the receiving. Monitoring and answer machine call screening can both be turned off if you don't want these features to be used.

The ring tones include a very subdued "Soft Alert" tone, which is perfect for the bedroom. A good collection of tones and tunes is also provided.

You can assign any ring tone to any number in the directory; this will be used as a distinctive ring whenever an assigned phone number (with caller ID) calls you.

The display is bright

1-0 out of 5 stars DO NOT EVEN TRY THIS PICESE OF SH-T!
YOU WILL BE VERY SORRY. GOOD LUCK IF YOU DECIDED TO BUY IT.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great phone!! Does not interfere with my Wireless AP
I have had this phone for 2 weeks now glad we bought it. I have not had any problems with the phone regarding clarity, ease of use, or interference.

The only complaint I have is that the custom ringer feature only works when you store the caller ID exactly as it appears when the person calls, which makes it difficult to recall later in the phone book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Phone For Wireless Lan System
I purchased the model with three handheld receivers and I am ready to buy more. The phone not only sounds great it sounds great to the person you are talking to. My computers 2.4 wireless LAN system was very sensitive to my other 2.4 GHz phone. It would cause no end to my network problems. When I purchased the Uniden 5.8 system, my problems stopped. The phone has excellent range and can be used like walkie-talkies to talk with your family or coworkers. Add to that the hundred number memories with answering machine and the best system ever is born. Another nice feature is that I know of no 5.8 GHz scanners that can listen to my calls.

I can add up to ten handsets and the answering system base can be used to call from with the speakerphone option. That means you can have eleven phones in your house or office that need no wire except the base unit. I have an all-metal shop that the phone works perfect in. All in all the phone works a thousand percent better than the 2.4 GHz phone that was causing all the problems with my wireless network.

The final note is this phone system is necessary buy if you want the best performance with any wireless system. I can give my highest recommendation to this phone system and my family and I are enjoying it.

4-0 out of 5 stars One Gripe
Great phone from the perspective of features and clarity, ergonomics. The only gripe is that the range is kind of pathetic. I had a 2.4GHz Panasonic before this one that beat its pants off for range. Might have something to do with the fact that it has no antenna on the phone or the base unit. Do these guys test their stuff? I thought 5.8 would actually have better range.

One other idiotic aspect I just realized. When someone calls you, caller id shows their number, complete w/area code of course. If you try and just dial from the caller id list, the phone is too stupid to put the one in front. This is also a big nuisance when you go to store the numbers. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars don't buy this nootbook
I read the comment about the fan noise this computer has, but I didn't care and bought this computer anyway. I just got this laptop today and the first thing I noticed is how ridiculously loud the fan is. I have a Dell laptop, but I can't hear the fan on my Dell's even when I press my ear against it. I called Sony's Service Center, they told me that alot of customers have called them complaining about the fan problem and a investigation is underway, but I am so pissed off right now because this product has a blatantly defective fan and Sony has failed to pull it out of the market.
Honestly, the fan makes so MUCH noise that this computer is not even worth buying.

4-0 out of 5 stars Awsome Notebook
I got this notebook (one generation back - the S260) and it's great! The widescreen is absolutely beautiful and it's light, powerful and has a good battery life. The only issues I have with it are that it does not have a DVD burner and it lacks (at least the s260 model) bluetooth. Also there's no keyboard light like the IBM thinkpads have. Other then that, it has everything I ever wanted in a notebook! I highly recommend this product. Also, thier support is GREAT. 24/7 support and onsite assistance. I've already used thier support once, and I was truly impressed (and it takes a lot to impress me).

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome
First, I have to say that I have a customized S-Series notebook from Sonystyle.com and not this particular configuration. It's more or less similar, though. I have more RAM, a DVD Burner and Bluetooth. My wife bought one last month after a year of laptop envy and is equally pleased with her configuration. Point: the core components here are solid.

I have personally never owned a laptop that was consistently as reliable as this one. Yes, there is fan noise but it's nowhere near as loud as some reviews make it out to be. To answer another reviewer: there are 2 USB ports and 1 Firewire port. I benchmarked all the hardware using Norton Utilities (yeah, yeah) and everything but the speed of my DVD Burner came up with excellent ratings.

The Xbrite monitor technology is great for using this laptop under high sunlight conditions outside. I also use it for Photoshop and feel that, despite its size, the 13" screen is ideal compared to the pixilated, grainy appearance of most other LCDs. My only major complaint about this laptop is that it does not have a DVI output for connecting it to something like an Apple Cinema Display. It does, however, have a standard RGB monitor output that works fine.

The chassis is light and very sexy. Along with the new Sony T Series latops (midget versions of the S series) I can honestly say there is no better slim notebook for Windows users. I also own a 12" Apple Powerbook G4 that I use for travel and, despite its reputation for being the sexiest of the ultra-lights, I still much prefer my Sony S.

The Intel 2200 Wireless Lan is really great for using wi-fi hotspots. A friend has a lower end Intel Wireless LAN and can rarely even detect hotspots that my S-series simply connects to automatically.

If you mainly want a light computer for wireless internet, iPoding, running business apps and editing digital photos, the canned configuration offered by Amazon.com will do fine. If you want to really trick out the guts of one of these, go to Sonystyle.com.

One word of advice I can offer to anyone interested in any version of this laptop is: buy the extended life battery (sold separately.) It's worth every penny. My G4 goes through two whole battery cycles in less time than it takes my extended life Sony battery to run down once. It's like the energizer bunny on steroids.

3-0 out of 5 stars fan is problem
This is one of the best laptops I've had....BUT...the fan can drive you crazy! I cannot take this to the library because people might think there's a race car in the computer - that's what it sounds like and it's constant and annoying! Sony says on their support site that the issue is "under investigation" so I didn't want to wait for the results and returned this beauty...

5-0 out of 5 stars Questions for owners
Two questions for current owners of the S-360 only:

1) A reviewer listed it as having only (2) USB 2.0 ports but the specs list (3). How many?

2) Another reviewer was turned off by fan noise. Do other users experience the same problem? ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars user friendly
very easy to use point and shoot. fast picture taking ability and does a good job auto-focusing. with 256 mb card, can hold 140 pics at default settings (5mp, fine). lcd screen is awesome and makes this camera a joy to use and review shots to ensure you got what you wanted. couple minor annoyances...battery will fall out when you open compartment, no locking feature on front lense cover (sometimes it will open on its own in your purse/pocket), no included carrying case....to protect lcd screen while in pockets or purse from scratches.

quality of pictures is on par or better than my olympus c4000 at 1/4 th the size.

docking station is fast with usb 2.0 instead of 1.1 like most others. recharges battery in under 3 hours.

this camera has impressed me....size, quality, and easy to use.

i recommend for those that want to carry a camera with them at all times without extra luggage.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not 100% pleased with this purchase
I purchased this camera about 2-3 months ago for general purpose/travel photography with my family. I was leaning towards the Canon S500, but went with the Sony T1 due to it's minimal size. Since purchasing, we have taken numerous photos, using both the "auto" mode as well as the "program" mode with some of the suggestions from previous posters in this forum (adjusting ISO, EV, sharpness, etc.). Overall, about 50% of the images are good to very good, and the remainder are very poor. The problem seems to primarily be with the focusing sensor, as a lot of images are not in focus - now I know what you're thinking, maybe I just didn't have the subject in the center of the focusing brackets, or the subject moved after holding down the shutter, or whatever, but trust me - that is not the case. I take numerous digital photos for work with Nikon, Olympus, and Kodak cameras, and only 5-10% of these are not in focus.
In several of the pictures NOTHING is in focus, which doesn't make a lot of sense unless the AF sensor is just not picking anything to focus on!?
Also, several of the photos have been blurred, even in bright sunlight, as though the shutter speed was too slow. (Yes, even when adjusting the ISO to 400).
Anyway, it's now in for repairs to see if there actually is a specific problem with the camera. As to the other issues:
1. Yes, red-eye is pretty bad, but easy to fix with software (no, I'm not using Sony's software).
2. I don't care that much about the missing tripod slot.
3. I've had no trouble keeping the lid closed.
4. USB and charger are a little bulky, but you can buy a small charger and USB from Sony, and/or buy a big enough MD card to hold images until you can download.
5. Camera functionality/ease of use is good and intuitive; I'd like a way to set the shutter speed, though...
The bottom line is this - I would love this camera if I could consistently get good photos (i.e., in focus and not blurred) out of it. If the camera gets fixed to solve these problems, I'll let you know; otherwise, I can not recommend it.

5-0 out of 5 stars BEST Camera ever!!!
This is our 3rd sony camera and I love them all, but this one.. wow the pictures are so clear, the screen size is huge, and the compact size is amazing. I keep it in my purse all the time for those shots when your just at the playground with the kids and you'd have wished you had your camera, WELL I DO... all the time and use it almost everyday. So easy to use, and such an amazing camera. I would never buy anything but sony, ever. You'll LOVE this camera, it truely is the best!

5-0 out of 5 stars B E A U T I F U L - Im Lovin It
I Love My Camera every where i took it so far i had possitive comments about it, it never gave me a problem like other customer had mentioned in this feedback, if you follow the direction as stated in the manuel you will not go wrong, it is a nice camera awsome screen could not complian nice and big.

5-0 out of 5 stars Accessories
For those of you that find it bulky to charge... buy the Compact Charger and an extra battery - well worth it! Even though you can take well over 100 pictures with flash and still have battery power; just be safe and have a back up. MPEG takes up batter power as do flash pictures, so don't take a chance on losing the picture or clip of a lifetime. For that one time you will never be able to relive again, it is great. Red-eye, I agree... Sony, could you please work on it. We are going to Vegas, so we purchased an extra battery and have taken many shots with moving lights so when we get to Vegas, I've had plenty of practice for perfect night pictures and moving light pictures. Don't like the way they look...... delete them; and start over; play with the features, that is why they are there. Tripod would be nice; however, for $500 I wouldn't want to venture into getting a Tripod; falling over would crush me!!! ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars Not compatible with Win XP
This card is not worth it. During install, it kept indicating that it was not compatible or tested with XP and crapped my standard 802.11 G connection as well. not worth the trouble.

4-0 out of 5 stars Linksys WPC54GS Pc Card 802.11G On Mac Powerbook G4 Ti
I started with the Linksys pre wireless version with 4 port, from Amazon about 4 years ago. Then when I got a Mac PowerBook with airport-B class internal wifi in Late November 2003 (Last PBg4 b4 the new aluminums w/.11G), I ordered a Linksys .11B w/4port and since seeing the one post about the card working in a Mac decided to try the latest GS Combo. The Mac had no problem finding the network. Wifi Setup was a snap) Linksys techs helped get all 3 routers working together, that took 30mins). The new WRT54GS and matching card**** Nice improvement, Video is only a tad slower than cat5e connection. Speed check at optonline hits 5,300(53mbps). Worth the work. You do have to know your Mac though. Airport setup is the key. *Use the WEP-set mac id on router to only accept the listed address the rest is up to you to play with. I highly recommend this setup. You get the best wifi connection a Mac can get for less, especially for pre G models. Linksys use of broadcom chip is the same standard on airport, they are compatible. Airport treats it like internal when inserted. I have had only minor bugs and one crash from not turning airport off b4 powering off the card. As far as G vs. GS price 10-20% dif. Who cares? I wanted SpEED! Besides Amzn px was best (+$30 off with Credit Card deal dropped the px to $109 Flat (no-tax, no Shipping) NOT BAD! So all you preG Mac owners who were hesitating, Get the GS (speedbooster works) 108 never gonna happen, technically impossible... read some reviews. As far as comparison with other brands. Apple certified repair shops sell these because they work. They just don't sell at Amzn prices. So enjoy your Itunes downloads fast from the backyard.

1-0 out of 5 stars Garbage
This card is garbage. I have used Linksys products in the past with good luck. I don't know if this product is too new or what. Would recognize the router but would not connect to the internet. After hours of talking with the totally useless Tech Support people, and several installs and uninstalls with the newest driver, I boxed it up and returned it.

1-0 out of 5 stars Linksys Fails
Before buying the Linksys WPC54GS I was a big fan of Linksys networking products. The problems I had with this product have made me look at other brands.

A client of mine needed to equip a Dell laptop with wireless capability so it would work using VPN (Virtual Private Networking). I purchased the Linksys WPC54GS and when I installed it I was surprised that the included CD had the same software version as the Linksys website. I proceeded to install the VPN software. Suddenly the wireless connection began to disconnect, then reconnect, then disconnect, over and over. Perplexed I spent over an hour re-installing drivers, re-installing VPN, and searching knowledge bases. My research showed that other people experienced this same issue.

I packed up the device and brought it back to the dealer. They gave me a full refund. I picked up the Netgear WGT511T, and low and behold it works perfectly! In the future I will look first to Netgear and Belkin before using Linksys products.

1-0 out of 5 stars couldn't get it to work
i should have read the reviews. not only did the setup program keep crashing, when i tried to uninstall it, it crashed. i think this card is too new... not ready for prime time.

i have winXP for home. i bought the router along w/ this card and the router works great (although i had to turn off UPnP to get the xbox to work). ... Read more
