5-0 out of 5 stars Easy Setup for me...
Well, I bought this item for my Xbox prior to reading all of the troubles most seem to have. My brother, who builds computers, as a side job, recommended the Linksys to me b/c he said they are the leader in wireless internet blah blah.
(I am no computer whiz by any means)
Anyhow, after I ordered it (from another company online), I then decided to check out the reviews on Amazon (I know, I worked backwards on this)...but I definately got worried after reading all the difficulty most have.
But too late, item was shipped.
Upon recieving, I hooked it up to my ROUTER (not computer as the instruction sheet said to) (my router is a Linksys G (not sure model #), then plugged it in the outlet, and ran the setup disk. That took about 2 or 3 minutes.
Then I unhooked it and took it to my Xbox which is in the next room, about 25' from the computer, seperated by a wall.
I hooked it up to my Xbox and plugged it in and was up and running.
Total time it took me to finally play someone online was about 15 to 20 minutes, b/c all of the inputing you have to do to set up online with the Xbox.
So, for me, it works great, no problems.
Only gripe is, this unit runs HOT. Hope that doesn't cause any longevity issues.

4-0 out of 5 stars A good buy, but...
I purchased this product for my Playstation 2 after careful speculation, despite certain poor reviews given by some Amazon.com members. I tried for a while to get my computer to "see" the game adapter. Eventually, I just hooked it up to my PS2. Using Madden 2004, I tested the connection. The first time, it did not work. I tried again, this time replugging in the adapter of my router. This seemed to do the trick, at least for madden. However, when I inserted my Tony Hawks Pro Skater 4 disk, it said that the Game Adapter was not connected. My advice: Do not buy this adapter if you want to play THPS4 (It worked fine with my Madden 2004 and Socom games, though)

1-0 out of 5 stars Nonfunctional product, nonfunctional customer support
If only Linksys put as much effort into improving the quality of their products as they do trying to cut costs with their support department!

This product SHOULD be plug-and-play, but it's not. Setup is done through a PC, but don't even think about unplugging the power cable before you try to use it; otherwise, it will never connect. And when it does connect, its DHCP doesn't do its job.

It's very difficult getting that green "connect" LED to light up, and Linksys support is no help there. The web-based setup says "disconnected" when the light is lit, and "connected" when the light is dark. Make sense? Of course not. Linksys' only advice is to make sure all your network settings are as they should be; that's it. Guess what: even with the correct settings, this thing still doesn't connect. Think all you need is a firmware update? Wrong again - no fixes available for this paperweight as of June, 2004, and it's been on the market for a year.

In short, don't let the sub-$100 price tag lure you in; this is a hunk of junk. I'm returning mine!

4-0 out of 5 stars works on PS2 fine but Xbox problems no ip
I found that connecting it to the PS2 and playing online is extremly fast with no lag time. When I connected it to my Xbox and tried connecting it to XBCONNECT it won't allow me to host or join. The reason being is because when I check the IP Settings on the Xbox it says 0.0.0.0 a broadcast. When I use a cat 5 cable I get the locally assigned 192.168.1.104 from my linksys wireless-g router. It assigns it fine with PS2 though which is the strange part. Well, since I can't get an IP it is useless trying to use any FTP program for the "changed" xbox hint hint. I need an IP to FTP. I am not sure what the problem is at this point.

1-0 out of 5 stars Terrible Product, Worse Support
Wow! What can I say about this product?

History:
I've been using Linksys products since 1998, and have had nothing but great experiences. I've referred many folks to spend the extra money on a Linksys, as it was the "Cadallic of home networking gear." To my shock and surprise, I can unfortunately say this no longer.

I purchased the WGA54G adapter, along side with a Linksys wireless broadband router. From the start, this piece of junk looked like trouble. The packaging and instructions were poor. I plugged it in, and after 5 minutes, the unit becomes uncomfortably warm. Plus, there's this faint "hissing" noise it makes when fully powered on. After an hour of repeat attempts, I eventually get the unit to "see" my broadband router, which is only 20 feet away. It connects fine, transmits data, and then at a COMPLETELY random period of time, the unit disconnects from the basestation, and is unable to transmit data, connect to the Internet, grab an IP address, nothing.

(Non)Resolution:
After much frustration, I call Linksys 24x7 "technical support." It reaches an outsourced call center in a foreign country. After two hours, here are my new impressions of Linksys new customer support:

•They speak very poor English
•They have very basic/poor product knowledge.
•When I asked for technical help from a level 2 technician, I experienced hostility
•I told them that I needed WEP privacy. They advised against this, as there are "problems" with WEP on the unit. Not acceptable-I'm not opening up my home network to the rest of the world.
•They insisted that my router was working, when I told them five various times it was still not working.

Conclusion: Junk
In conclusion, Linksys poorly designed a cheap product, and they only back it up with terrible customer support. I left this with an absolute customer experience. Until the folks at Cisco (who own Linksys) catch up with these problems, BE CAREFUL!!

So what to do?

Some say try another vendor. What do I do? Funny enough, someone gave me a second Linksys WRT54G router. I added the Sveasoft firmware hack to boost output to 84mW, and then threw it into "client" mode, and WEP encryption works (no WAP yet). It's worked flawlessly. If you'd have to pay for this, you'd end up saving money over the WGA54G purchase, and see dependable results. ... Read more

Amazon.com Product Description

The Zen Micro digital music player from Creative Labs packs an incredible 5 GB of storage capacity into a shell small enough to sit comfortably in your jeans pocket. It also rides nicely in your hand, with a palm-fitting profile and thumb-friendly front-panel controls. It's a bit shorter than an Apple iPod Mini, yet its rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides 12 hours of continuous playback--50 percent more than iPod Mini's. The Zen Micro is compatible not merely with MP3s and WAV files, but with WMA as well. Toss in USB 2.0 connectivity and you're looking at one spiffy portable music player.

But playing isn't all the Zen Micro does. You can use it to receive FM radio (with 32 station presets to keep your favorites at the ready), and to record, either from the radio or from live sources such as voice dictation or lectures using the Zen Micro's built-in condenser microphone.

Trimmed in a luminescent blue glow and with easily visible backlit buttons, this stylish white player holds up to 1,250 songs (83 hours) at 128 kbps or 2,500 songs (166 hours) at lower-fidelity 64 kbps (MP3/WMA)--that's a solid week's worth of music listening, never playing the same song twice. Compatibility with Microsoft's WMA compressed-audio format grants access to over 2 million downloadable songs offered promotionally or for sale online.

Perhaps the Zen Micro's coolest attribute is its DJ feature, which will shuffle not only all the songs you've loaded or all the songs in a given album, but also, at your discretion, only the tracks you listen to most, or only those rarely hear, taking the work out of selecting your favorites or hunting out all the music you're still getting to know.

Zen Micro's rechargeable battery is easy to replace.
For navigation, the device features a vertical, linear touchpad designed to make searching through songs or playlists easy, quick, and fun. The unit's blue, 160 x 104-pixel, electroluminescent LCD shows key functions and song details at a glance, and you can even customize the main menu to keep right at your fingertips the features that matter most to you.

Another of the Zen Micro's handy features is its personal organizer. You'll never forget an important anniversary with the onboard calendar, and it also includes a to-do list and a contacts list, all of which sync seamlessly with Microsoft Outlook (Outlook thus required for use of these features). In addition, the device offers a sleep timer and alarm so you can drift off to sleep to the strains of one playlist and wake to a completely different one.

The Zen Micro's removable battery is easy to swap with another fully charged battery (additional batteries sold separately), extending your listening by a half-day per swap.

What's in the Box

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Mouse, poor software
I got this mouse with the Logitech diNovo Media Desktop which came with the bluetooth hub and a keyboard and media pad. The only problem with the mouse is that the software that lets u assign keystrokes to the buttons on the mouse actually disables the middle mouse button (mmb). I use programs that require the mmb and was wondering why this didnt work until i shut down the program SetPoint from my system tray. Doing so will render the quick switch button inactive but i find it faster to switch programs by pointing and clicking then by pressing a button then pointing and clicking. Without the program all other buttons work as normal. I dont need to assign special tasks anyway.

Another point of interest is the battery life. I have the hub which recharges the mouse which is a must because if u dont keep it charging when not in use it will run out. U can check ur batteries by running the SetPoint software and it allows u to check batteries for the mouse as well as the keyboard and media pad if u have diNovo.

All in all, its a great device if you use bluetooth, but if u dont need or use bluetooth you are probably better off with a regular cordless.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not what I needed
Just a quick report on my experience with this mouse. I'll start off by mentioning that perhaps I had unrealistically high expectations...
First off I should mention that I already own it's sister mouse, the MX700, which I use with windows XP, using the standard generic drivers - i.e. I didn't install the Logitech drivers. It works great!

I recently got an iBook with built in Bluetooth. It seemed that the MX900 would be perfect - A great mouse, no wires, and also a bluetooth hub which I could plug into the winXP box and use for wireless internet between the two computers (Yes it CAN be done).

Well the MX900 connected to the iBook easily enough. I got the 4th & 5th buttons working with Expose, but the mouse doesn't move right. When plugged into Apple's bluetooth it develops really horrible acceleration, which make it a real pain to use :(

Anyway I though so long as I can get the wireless internet to work then I won't mind so much. After a lot of messing around I got a bluetooth network set up on the winXP desktop machine. After even more messing around I got as close as it seems possible to get to getting Bluetooth networks set up on OS-X. Basically OS-X doesn't really support them I found out :(

So I'm going to return the mouse. Hopefully I can swap it for a normal wifi router - I just won't have a cool mouse to go with it :(

Oh one weird thing I noticed - the build quality of the MX900 (bought in the US) isn't as good as my MX700 (bought in the UK). Bizzare seeing as they look essentially identical. The MX900 just feels cheaper, the buttons rattle etc.

However I should add that if you intend to use the mouse for a normal destop PC then it's still a great purchase, and probably the best mouse you can buy - I think the extra $40 (over the MX700) is worth it for the bluetooth - if you need it.

4-0 out of 5 stars A great mouse for Bluetooth
I love this mouse. I use it with my laptop everyday. My Dell laptop has an internal bluetooth receiver thus making this small and easy to use. I have to charge the mouse on the hub once a week, however I really don't mind too much (I keep two extra dbl-A batteries in my laptop case). I do have to make sure to remove the batteries when I'm on the go (or the batteries will drain from detecting movement). This mouse is not suitable for left-handed people. I like the weight it has (not lightweight, but not too heavy). Its range is great (thats bluetooth for you).

One mistake I made once was that I tried to install the Logitech software in my WindowsXP (If you just use the bluetooth software that comes with your laptop, it will find the mouse just fine). The software disabled my internal bluetooth device in the laptop and I had to use the hub in order for the mouse to work (not acceptable - otherwise I would have purchased the mx700). It took me a while to figure out that it wasn't just the Logitech software I needed to uninstall, rather I needed to remove the bluetooth hub software as well (very misleading by Logitech).

I only rated this 4/5 stars due to the short battery life. Still, don't let that deter you if you don't mind working around that (I don't mind - I was well aware of it from reading posts on here).

4-0 out of 5 stars Great Performing Mouse! But practical?
I use this mouse with my Powerbook with built in bluetooth.

Pros:
- Control- I have used this mouse for first person shooter video games, which requires that a mouse be very accurate and fast, this mouse is both. Supposedly there is a theoretical bottleneck in the refresh rate with bluetooth mice vs. USB mice and Logitech's own RF mouse (mx700), but I did not notice it in my use, so its doubtful that in ordinary, everyday use that anyone can tell the difference between this mouse and other quality corded mice.
- Ease of use- The mouse took less than 10 seconds for bluetooth to recognize the mouse and configure it. The mouse is literally plug and play, without the plug. Of course I am using my built in bluetooth, the mouse also comes with a hub that will require some installation of software that comes with package if you don't have built in bluetooth.
- Comfort- like the other reviews say, this is definitely a right handed mouse and its probably the most comfortable mouse I have owned. Beware if you are left handed though. The mouse is also heavy due to the batteries, but less than an hour later my hand adapted and I use this mouse as naturally as any other mouse.

Cons:
- Battery Life- really battery life is not an issue if you remember to always put your mouse in the cradle when you are not using it. It does become an issue, however, if you plan on using the mouse for extended time periods without charging or if you forget to charge your mouse. Nothing is worse than rushing to finish a document and suddenly have your mouse run out of batteries. Does it defeat the purpose of a cordless mouse if you have to keep a normal mouse close by as a backup? But as I said, if you use this mouse for a few hours at a time and always remember to place back in the hub, you'll be all right.
- Bluetooth hub- For me personally, I wish they would sell this mouse without the Bluetooth hub, because I don't need it. But maybe you don't need it either. What is the use of buying a "cordless mouse" when you need a hub that is connected to a cord anyways? If you are buying this mouse as a way to save room on your desk, keep in mind that you will need to connect the hub to your computer if you don't have bulit in bluetooth. This not only adds a cable going from your computer to the hub, but also adds a cable going to the electric outlet so you can use the hub to charge the mouse. So by buying a 'cordless" mouse, you've actually added an extra cord and a hub that takes up space. The hub is nice, however, if you already have some other bluetooth enable devices such as a phone or PDA that you have not been able to take advantage of because you don't have Bluetooth on your computer.
- Laptop practicality- see above if you don't have bluetooth built in. Its even worse for a laptop to lug around a hub. But if you do have laptop with built in bluetooth and you want to use this mouse for portability purposes there are also some things you must be aware of. First off the mouse does lessen your battery life a bit by way of the bluetooth connection. Secondly there is no OFF button on the mouse (it instead turns off by sensing inactivity), so to be able to travel with it, you must take the batteries out and then put them back in when you take it out of your bag.
- Price- This is by far the most money I've ever spent on a mouse. If you MUST have a cordless mouse and you don't care about bluetooth for your other peripherals, then consider the MX700 for almost half the price. The MX700 also comes with a hub, but it isn't bluetooth (and therefore has less range and much less connectivity options that bluetooth offers). If you can live with the decreased battery life and taking the batteries in and out, this mouse does become worth the price for a travel mouse. It is also great for Powerpoint presentations, hook up the laptop to a projector and you can sit anywhere in the room and still use your mouse to point and control the presentation, unless the room is huge like an auditorium and you are on the other side.

Conclusion- This mouse leaves nothing to be desired as far as performance and comfort go. Ease of installation is another plus to this great product. However, before you purchase this product, ask yourself is this mouse practical for you? Do you really need a bluetooth hub? Is it really worth the price to you for the bluetooth wireless mouse vs the rf wireless mouse or even a corded mouse? If your answer is yes to these questions, then I highly recommend the MX900 mouse to you.

5-0 out of 5 stars My first Bluetooth Mouse
Having just purchased a new notebook (Sager 8790) with internal bluetooth, I was anxious to test it out and see how it worked. I was initially a bit apprehensive over it, thinking that it might stutter in movement or be slow to react, but the thought of one less cord attached to my notebook compelled me to try.

I chose the MX 500 because I'd heard a bad review from someone regarding the MS Bluetooth Intellimouse. However, I was reluctant to go with the Logitech mouse as I've been using MS Optical Intellimouses (Intellimice?) exclusively since they first came out.

Upon installing the Billionton drivers, it was a snap to have my notebook recognize the MX 500. It works fantastic. I love it. In fact, I'm looking to buy a 2nd Bluetooth mouse now so I can be wireless at work, too. I'm so sold on this that it drives me crazy to use the wired MS Optical mouse at work.

The only downside is that if you're a heavy computer user, you have to be mindful to put the mouse on the charger before going to sleep. Otherwise, you're going to have a dead mouse eventually (voice of experience). I haven't tried to set up the extra buttons above and below the scroll wheel. I can't say whether they work well or not. Convenient for those that need/want the extra options, but I'm happy enough w/ the basics (L, R, scroll, Forward, Backward).

I'm more than impressed with this mouse and wouldn't hesitate to suggest it to anyone. I was leery at first, but am very happy I took the chance because it's fantastic being wireless with such a responsive mouse. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars THE BEST!!!
Hello everyone! This prodect is the best thing I have ever used!
This GREAT prodect fetures a PDA witch is helping me in school, games like blackjack ETC.
The rest of all the info. I am leaving the rest for me to be glad when you buy this prodect. HAVE FUN!

1-0 out of 5 stars Synchronization Doesn't Work
This product proved to WASTE more time than provide a friendly time-saving fix. I realized that the device synchronized some of my appointments, but not all-day events like birthdates and anniversaries. I also realized that none of my Outlook address book contacts were synchronized. This device is a waste of money, for any customer. I received this item as a christmas gift. After realizing that a PDA was a great idea, I chose to purchase a HP iPAQ h1935 Pocket PC. It sells for 200.00 and is worth every penny. If you are a mobile phone user, I would recommend purchasing a Samsung i700 which combines a Pocket PC with digital camera and cellphone.

1-0 out of 5 stars Keep looking!!
I guess there's are reasons that other electronic organizers are twice the price as this one...FUNCTIONALITY and QUALITY! Two things this organizer is dreadfully lacking! I'll probably end up giving mine away as soon as I get a new one. The features are so cumbersome, it'll take you forever just to create an appt entry...and forget about trying to repeat the appt...no such option! The display is extremely difficult to see in normal romm light, but at least the backlight option is good in the dark. Next time, I'm not going to buy one of these without TRYING it first!

1-0 out of 5 stars Terrible Synchonization
I actually really like the way this unit looks and operates. It had great potential to be exactly what I wanted and needed.
My main reason for purchasing this is that I have lots of meetings and appointments, and I'm not always in front of my computer with outlook running. I really need something that would synch up with outlook and give me reminders of all my appointments.
THIS ORGANIZER WILL IGNORE ALL RECURRING OR MULTI-DAY SHCEDULE EVENTS!!!!!!
I could not believe this shortcoming when I began using the unit. The majority of my meetings are recurring. I would have to go into outlook and change all my recurring appointmenst to one time events, and then copy them over and over....
The worst part of this is that Sharp has the knowledge needed. A freind of mine has a cheaper model with far less memory, and fewer features (Sharp YO-290 I think), but it synchs up with ALL the outlook shcedule events.
If Sharp had some sort of patch to fix this I would keep it.
But since they say in the ReadMe.txt file (which you only see after you've purchased and installed the software) that this unit will not display repeated schedule events, it sounds like they don't intend on providing a fix. So, my 590 is going back.

2-0 out of 5 stars Terrible Display
This product has terrible display quality. It is hard to view in a bright room and the resolution is disappointing at best. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome performance
I've owned several PDAs over the years and had abandoned the Palm platform for Sony Clies - the Clies were faster, more stylish, had more features and fantastic screens. I was intrigued by the features of the Tungsten C and tried one out at a local store and immediately purchased one online. In short, the C is a power user's dream PDA. My impressions after 3 weeks of use:

Screen: incredible, very bright, robust colors - rivals the Clie NX70V, maybe even a bit brighter

WiFi: immediately connected to my home Airport network - range is about 70-80ft - I have been able to connect effortlessly to T-mobile hotspots in several Starbucks

Speed: nothing like it on any PDA - the C truly flies - the browser speed is next to incredible - much faster than browsing on a PocketPC

Keyboard: I have never liked thumbpads, but the one on the C has the keys spaced so they can be accessed via thumb typing - I rarely need to use the new Graffiti 2

Memory: you will not run out!

Battery: very good, I'm getting 10-15 hours

The mono sound issue doesn't bother me at all - I have an iPod for mp3 listening - the C is fine for Audible content - the mono/stereo doesn't make much difference with the spoken word

It would have been nice to have built-in Bluetooth - the only limitation I have found so far.

I would also would have liked to have a travel charger included - it's a pain to have to carry the cradle around.

5-0 out of 5 stars The BEST! PDA on the market
All of the specs you can get from the other reviews and from Palms website directly. My post here is because I am a new owner of the Tungsten C. Ive had mine about a week now and I am really glad I got it.

THE GOOD: tons and tons of great apps and games for this! Some of them like billiards, megabowling, bejeweled, monopoly, pinball, GTS racing, mahjongg.. have high res graphics which make game play estounding! The wifi internet ability makes this palm a 10 star PDA. I can walk near my local apple store or stop into my local coffeehouse and check my email and pull up a website on this palm for free. This PDA will keep me VERY busy for hours on end when I travel on flights. I can even check email in airports too. Im writing a book right now and the built in keyboard is alot easier to type quickly then using graffiti feature. Its great to finally have this PDA to write my book, I no longer need to bring my laptop anywhere! As you can see im not a serious business PDA user but this will last me many years Im sure because it has all the features I want. I recently rode the new Pasadena-Los Angeles metro gold line subway and relaxed doing my Tungsten C.. played some games, replied to some emails, and checked my metro timetables stored as PDFs. Im set for the the future and beyond! (I cant wait until the software to make my Tungsten C a worldwide cellphone is released in September!)

The BAD: Palms website rarely works for me during Pacific daylight hours. The built-in palm web browser cant handle popup windows. In some ways thats good, in some ways its bad. The only other bad thing I can think of is people have complained here of the mono audio feature this palm has. I too think Palm either overlooked this feature on the most powerful PDA on the market or they ran out of room on the pda itself for the jack... or they just want you to go buy their new ones coming out a year later! I couldnt wait and Im glad I got this one NOW. I did fix the mono problem. I bought a $15 Nokia cellphone headset and cut the wire 3 inches above the mic. Then I got a nice set of walkman style stereo headphones and cut the end off. I soldered up the leads and now ive got a great set of headphones with mic for my palm. If you know how to solder its fairly easy to do. Just solder the ground leads together, then solder the mono lead to the two stereo leads and youve got mono piped into both headphone speakers. Finish it off with some black electrical tape. Do a great job and take your time and no one will ever know you spliced it! Its a 15 minute fix until Palm comes out with their own version.

1-0 out of 5 stars Signifigant Hardware Problems
Palm's update corrupts the MAC address and renders the WiFi functionality useless. Support does not respond to any of my requests. BUY SOMETHING ELSE!!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Handheld With WiFi!
This is my fifth handheld. My first two were palm, my third was a Sony, and for my fourth I went back to palm. All four had 8MB of RAM and a 33 MHz processor. When I first turned on the Tungsten C I was amazed at how fast it was. When I clicked on an application it would instantly open, without that 1 or 2 second delay seen on older handhelds. This handheld includes 51 MB of memory, which is very nice for storing applications, movies (using the included Kinoma player), music, pictures and just about anything else. The display is one of the best I've seen, and the high-resolution is really nice. I like the Tungsten T3 expandable display, and was considering getting it, but I realized WiFi was too important. The WiFi is one of the best features of this handheld. I opened the WiFi setup application, it instantly detected my home network, I entered my WEP key and it was connected. Browsing the web on the Tungsten C is not anything like on a desktop or laptop. There is A LOT of scrolling involved, and many web pages take a long time to load, even with cable internet. There are also a lot of bugs in the web browser, and I've had to do many soft resets. I've downloaded AvantGo, which can be used as a web browser, and I never have to reset. The e-mail application, VersaMail, works very well. I just entered my POP3 mail account, and it worked. The keyboard is also a great feature. It is much better than Graffiti, and I'll never go back to a handheld without a keyboard. Palm includes Graffiti2, but I don't even bother using it because the keyboard is so convenient. One thing I've been hearing other reviewers complaining about is the mono headset jack. It would be nice to have stereo, but it's not that important to me. If I want to listen to music, I'll use my iPod. It works just fine for audiobooks, though. The headphones (sold separately from palm) look like ones for cell phones, however, they do not work with cell phones. Overall, this is a truly great handheld. It has a few minor problems, but so does any other electronic device. I've compiled a list of pros and cons:

Pros:

-400 Mhz Processor
-51MB RAM
-Built-in WiFi
-Thumb Keyboard
-Excellent Display
-Comes With Good Array Of Applications

Cons:

-Web Browser Has Too Many Bugs
-Mono Headphone Jack
-No Included Headset

4-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Handheld, Couple of minor glitches
First off, I'm now spoiled. After this handheld, I will NEVER go back to a grafitti based palm! I might put up with less memory, maybe a cheaper display, maybe slower processor, but I would never take a replacement without the keyboard. Using the JFile shareware database, my sister entered an entire stack of about a hundred movies in a couple of hours on this keyboard with little or no training. It couldn't have happened on my previous Visor Prism.

-Display is indeed the best in its class. I was amazed that I opened it up under direct summer sunlight inside my car and I could read the text without any problems. [I wouldn't try making out color, but that's fair to me]

-Speed is wonderful. Much faster than the high end Treo's (and better display too) I used to play Handmark Monopoly on my Visor Prism... I tried it on my Tungsten C and at first I thought the animations weren't working... then I realized it was just happening too fast to see!

-Palm's advanced replacement is very well done. I was rushed to ER about two months after purchasing this machine and in the process it got munched in the car door. When I was better I gave Palm a call, paid $150 and had an advanced replacement in decent condition sitting in my hands very quickly. (WITH full warranty still I might add!) It was very nice since I'm very dependent on this little machine.

Downsides?
-Web browser stinks. It crashes a lot on quite a few sites. I'm leary of forking out >+$40 for the pro version when I'm not sure it will be more stable.

-Wi-Fi range is poor. I have to be basically within 20 feet of a base unit for it to work. [Using both a DLink and Airport Extreme]. On the flip side, I have never had interoperability issues as long as I input the keys in full hex. And I understand that this range is typical of units this size.

-Unit will lock on poor wi-fi reception

-No bluetooth! This would be the one feature I completely miss. Wish they'd get this fixed. ... Read more

Movie Mode and Audio
In addition to capturing still images, you can also shoot short videos with sound (its companion D-540 has no sound capabilities) at 15 frames per second (fps). The D-580 has two resolution modes: 320 x 240 and 160 x 120. The built-in microphone can also capture short memos that can be appended to each message

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best Camera
i got this camera for Christmas and i love it because it is very easy to use and to hook it up to the computer is soo easy.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Value!
This camera is an excellent value! It is very cheap for a four megapixel camera, has zoom, takes great, sharp, and colorful pictures! I bought this camera for my girlfriend based on what I had read about ease of use for this camera. You would be hard pressed to find a more user friendly camera in this price range or above. THe auto focus on this camera is excellent! We have taken lots of picures with this camera during the day and night and little have come out anything but clear and colorful. Two of the night photos I took of fireworks came out blurry but this is to be expected when not using a tripod. This is a great camera that has a very powerful flash and is easy to use. A word of warning would be not to even try using Alkaline batteries, they will be spent in about 20 shots. One warning, for outdoor wildlife enthusiasts, the zoom motor on this camera is very loud! Instead get one of the Lithium CR-V3 batteries which give excellent picture taking volume in this camera. I highly recommend this camera to anyone looking for an easy to use, great working and low priced camera.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Camera
It is an excellent camera for this price (I bought it for $250 about 2 weeks ago). Last week I used it to take pictures in Niagara Falls during day and night. The pictures during the day are crisp. During the night, I held it by hand to take pictures of rapids and the water falls (without flash). The water flow effect was surpringly clear and bright.

Its TruePic Turbo image processor is indeed very fast. I used the camera to take pictures of fireworks. During 10 minutes I took tens of pictures.

However, it is quite necessary to have four recargable Ni-Mh AA batteries with this camera. It uses battery power pretty fast.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good Camera for the Price
I purchased this camera for my wife because of it's ease of use (point'n'click) and the lense is automatically covered when turned off (protects lense in her purse or briefcase). It is a nice camera, easy to use, picture quality is OK (my daughter's Kodak 6340 and my Nikon 5700 pictures are much sharper), good camera for beginners. Batteries do not last long, pictures blurred with full digital zoom.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great little camera
This is my second Olympus and I really like it. Small and compact, takes great pictures. Easy to understand instructions. Great point and shoot camera. I wish the lense cover and body were a bit stronger. Lense cover seems a bit flimsy - like it may not last a long time without breaking. But we will see. I have only had it about a week. I bought the Cannon A75 and hated it and took it back. Olympus takes much better pictures and it much more amature user friendly. Cannon seems to be for the professional that knows how to manually set the settings. But if you want a great little point and shoot camera "Cheaper" than cannon, then go with Olympus. I think my next one will be the Olympus Stylus, since it is made for all weather and a all steel body. I wish I had gotten the Stylus, but it is a bit more expensive. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Seems okay to me.
I should start out by saying that the Rio Chiba is the first MP3 player I've ever seen in person. I won it in a radio station contest. As others have stated they have a problem with the battery door coming off, I have not had that problem, mine snaps into place securely. Regarding the software, I was able to use it pretty easily without reading hardly any of the instructions. I'm moderately computer savvy so I think that says a lot. I think the sound is great although I agree it could be a little louder. The tuner doesn't get the best reception but I don't use it much for that anyway. I think it's a good little player but again, it's the only one I've had any experience with.

3-0 out of 5 stars few annoyances but overall pretty good
I just purchased this mp3 today and overall, its a nice player with plenty of standard features. For those of you with customized playlists (My Playlist) on Windows Media Players, be prepaired to MANUALLY create new playlists using the rio software that comes with the mp3 player. I was hoping for a quick transfer of songs organized by my own personal playlists using windows media player. However, i guess in order to use the playlist feature on the mp3 player, you have to create them using the rio software. So after a few HOURS of assigning ALL my mp3's to their rio playlists, everything seems to be in good working order.

The other thing many people have talked about is the battery cover. Its really irritating since its never securly tightened and comes off too easily. It does however come with a plastic belt clip that completely covers the battery cover. So if you leave the belt clip on, the battery cover is no longer an issue. However the belt clip makes it a bit bulkier to carry around. So if you don't mind having a piece of tape to fasten the cover on your new player, which is what I did, it shouldn't be a problem.

The volume control is another issue if you want to get nit pickey. On max volume (denoted as the number 30), it is very loud, but not as loud as you would expect compaired to the max volume on a sony cd player or tape player. Since I listen to my music pretty loud, this is a minor issue.

Overall, good sound quality and all the buttons are in reach of a single hand. I will say that since I ended up paying drastically less than the list price ($199.00) it was a great buy! I would however NOT pay $199.00 for this player.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good overall, except ear pieces
I just got my Rio and I must say, it's easy to use and sounds good. I took it out running and I live in a busy area. I only had the volume up to ~20 and had no problems--I thought it was plenty loud and had no desire to take it up to the max of 30. My only complaint is that the ear pieces are very uncomfortable to me and I had a hard time getting them to stay in place, on top of it. I ended up walking the rest of the way. Once I get new ear buds, I'll be happy. I was a little worried when I ordered it that the belt clip wouldn't be adequate to run--I'm no longer concerned. It didn't budge--felt very secure. And I LOVE the FM radio feature!!! It came in perfectly clear and, being that I haven't transferred many songs to it yet, let me test it out without boredom.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great alternative for MAC users
I originally tried the iRiver iFP-190T. The biggest feature the iRiver had was that it was LOUD. However, the majority of the flash players out there seem to ignore MAC users. That's too bad, because there are a lot of us out there who think shelling out the big dough for an iPod is out of hand. Especially with the battery situation. I'll take cheap rechargeable AAA batteries that last twice as long anyday. Yes the iRiver sounded great, but was pretty much DOA when hooking up to OS X on my G4.

MACWorld magazine did the honest thing and reviewed some popular flash players. The Rio Chiba, Cali, and Fuse were given the highest honors. They were true to their word, I've had the Chiba a little over 24 hours and has been working seemlessly with iTunes. In fact, if you already have iTunes, you don't need to load any software! The Chiba display has 3 lines of text - very large. The controls are solid and easy to use. The menus are also straightforward. MAC users don't seem to have the option of creating multiple playlists (Correct me if I'm wrong - please). The transfer rate was 20 minutes for around 60 songs, about the amount of time it takes me to shower in the morning. The belt clip looks deceptively cheap. It works ok (the headphone connection is the key to locking it in place). You may prefer something a little more rugged and weatherproof. So I am quite happy with the Chiba, although I have a sentimental attachment to the name since I have been to Chiba, Japan. EXCEPT for the low headphone volume.

This is too bad, because it was a big compromise to find a MP3 player that really DID work well on a MAC, and was well rated. The price was $100 less than the mini iPod. I purchased an extended warranty plan, since the manufacturers warranties on these things are about 120 days, and they are still a little buggy. But I have a reliable and cheaper alternative for the iPOD, and it even has an expandable memory slot.

4 out of 5 stars.

4-0 out of 5 stars Rio Chiba 256MB - Easy to use ( 1 hand) and sounds great.
This unit Sounds great and is easly controled w/one hand while on the belt clip. No arm band provided though. includes FM stereo w/8 presets and manual tunning mode (yea). Headphones are in-ear type and sound very good: by way of comparison Sony MDR-G63 sportphones sound just slightly better. WinXP's Media Player 9 recognizes the Rio and can transfer songs, delete songs and format the player: but be careful as I somehow deleted all my songs once.
Included software seems OK (I only had the unit 24 hours.)
There's a firmware (software) upgrade available: The upgrade was
so easy I did'nt realize it was done and almost did it again.
256MB = about 60 songs at a 128-192bps (Medium high bitrate).
Now I just need a cheap SD mem card (It takes up to 1Meg of SD/MMC memory). And there's the rub. Once you get used to having your music on demand you'll wnat more, more, more.
I gave 4 stars only because I have nothing to compare it to.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Storage Solution
I purchased my drive from one of the big office supply stores with rebates and coupons and got it for less than a doller per GB. Maxtor drives are easy to install and come with software to help get them partitioned and formatted. A detailed instruction manual for installation is included as well showing all jumper settings. I installed mine on a Win XP Home system and it was a snap. Only negative is that the drive is rather loud during use. Not bothersome loud but you do notice it compared to the original 20 GB drive that was in the system (also a Maxtor). Have used Maxtor in the past and never had a failure. Good Drive

4-0 out of 5 stars Humming along just fine
In this age of 100 GB drives, why get a 60 GB? Well, since I am still using Win98 the max space accepted (or so I am told) is 128 GB, so it makes most sense to get two 60s and thereby split the potential loss of data if any one drive ever fails.

When I opened up my Dell PC to install this new drive, I discovered that my Dell came with an older Maxtor 20GB drive which has been running fine for about 4 years now. So this is my second Maxtor drive, though I didn't realize that when I made the purchase.

I've had this new Maxtor 60 GB drive for a few weeks now and I am entirely satisfied. Other brands touted how silent they were, but this Maxtor(which didn't tout it) is quiet too - just a humm (vibration) when it is getting data. It is more quiet than the older Maxtor from a few years ago, which rumbles a bit. So clearly they've improved the quietness of this drive.

It was simple to physically insall, though I must admit I cheated a bit and just stuck it inside using some velcro rather than bothering with the included brackets and screws (which are included so one can use either size bay).

In contrast to what others have written, I found the formatting of the drive (the initial setup) to be confusing. I muddled through and though I am not sure precisely what I did, two hours later the drive was up and running perfectly. I suppose that is an endorsement, but you still need to count three and pray that you know what you are doing, or can at least fake it.

I was particularly puzzled by the way that the manual shows several positions for some switches (whereby one chooses if this drive will be the main drive or a secondary drive), but the sticker affixed to the drive itself (which I assume is more up-to-date than the manual) has entirely different positions for the switches. So I had to try a couple variations before I hit the one which in fact worked.

Lastly, a general endorsement of getting a second hard drive: I use Photoshop often, and the files tend to be enormous. I'd been forced to burn off the files to CD-Rs to make room to continue working. What a waste of time and CD-Rs that had been! I am now so pleased to be using my second drive for all my rough drafts and works-in-progress, and then later on copying only the finished file to my primary drive. It feels so refreshing to have this level of neat-ness, where before there had been clutter.

I hadn't realized how simple it was to add a second hard drive. Try it, you'll like it.

5-0 out of 5 stars This is simply superb
I think I have taken a good decission in buying this product. After searching over the net for a month, I choose this compact MP3 player as the best one and after using it over a month now, I found it to be the ultimate one when I compare this with other MP3 players those my friends are using.

It gives a harmony sound effect, no need to go for another ear piece. The voice recoding is excellent. I recorded so many songs and sent those to my friends and they couldn't believe that the voice is so much clear when I told them it is recorded by a mp3 player. They felt like I am singing infront of them. Lookwise, it is very nice and very handy for travel purpose. I also carry it with me whenever I go for a meeting. The download is very fast, only you need to attach the cable to the USB port.I don't see any disadvantage of this item. Worth buying it if you are a music freakout person. This item is for someone who loves music and listens to the soft voice. Also, it is one of the best gift items you can think of.

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome MP3 Player!
Pros:-Very small and thin, about the size of a credit card.-Extremely easy to put songs on and very fast with the USB 2.0. It only takes about 5-8 seconds per song to download to the player depending on the length of it.-The equalizer is really nice especially since you can customize it.-The battery was fully charged right out of the box and took about 5 minutes to get everything going including installing the software on my computer.-The volume goes up nice and loud and doesn't loose clarity or anything.-The radio has very good reception and never has static.-The screen is very clear and has a nice sky blue backlight.-The leather case is also very nice and handy. Overall I couldn't have picked a better MP3 player with all that the MuVo Slim offers for only $160. Cons:The only complaint that I have is the ear buds that come with it. They have really good sound, but they are so big that they don't fit into my ear and just fall out. Also the latch on the battery compartment is a little fragile, but that isn't a big problem. ...

Trimmed in a luminescent blue glow and with easily visible backlit buttons, this stylish purple player holds up to 1,250 songs (83 hours) at 128 kbps or 2,500 songs (166 hours) at lower-fidelity 64 kbps (MP3/WMA)--that's a solid week's worth of music listening, never playing the same song twice. Compatibility with Microsoft's WMA compressed-audio format grants access to over 2 million downloadable songs offered promotionally or for sale online.

Perhaps the Zen Micro's coolest attribute is its DJ feature, which will shuffle not only all the songs you've loaded or all the songs on a given album, but also, at your discretion, only the tracks you listen to most, or only those you rarely hear, taking the work out of selecting your favorites or hunting out all the music you're still getting to know.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Quality and Portability
After getting this reader and getting use to putting the cards in the correct way I love it. I love the fact that it is powered via the USB port. The quality is great and the text recognition is wonderful. I have scanned multiple business cards from conferences that I attend. I love the fact that I can export the contacts and separate them from the different events. The price is also reasonable.

The portability is a plus and I would recommend its purchase.

5-0 out of 5 stars SUPER USEFUL!
I do not have that many cards but I just hate retyping them... retyping 10 cards is a waste of time and I have dozens...
I purchased this product with a "try and see" attitude (I am sincerely a tough customer to please when it comes to theses types of technologies) but I really am very satisfied with this product, not only because it does what it says it does but also because of the special advantages. I discovered this little scanner also scan pictures! I scanned ALL my 4X6 pictures in Photoshop in half the time of a regular flatbed!
Very nice product! At this price, it is a no brainer! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Monitor - Recommended Buy!!!
Coming from a 21" CRT, this monitor is incredible! I thought I could expect a little fuzziness, but was pleasantly stunned by the clarity and depth of color. At first, the text WAS rather fuzzy on Windows XP, but then I found a dialog box that allowed me to sharpen the text and I haven't had a problem since. Consider also that I'm running this monitor on a Belkin KVM (Keyboard-Video-Mouse controller) with the second machine running Windows 98SE, on which there never was a problem with the text. On both OS's this monitor has been superb.

We bought two monitors for three computers, so we've really had a chance to analyze their performance. Again, no problems across the board. The "auto fix" button does all the work, unless you're like my husband, who is fussy and likes to be picky about his brightness and contrast. It has an intuitive menu which some might complain about, but I have found to be typical for LCD's.

I did my research on monitors before this purchase and found it to have the best contrast ratio, a digital video input (DVI) and most important - an amazing response rate. When contemplating this purchase, I was concerned that some of my husband's fast-paced bang-em up games would stutter, and I'm pleased to note that the graphics are incredible and smooth as glass. Granted, his machine is running with an 8xAGP nVidia with 256 VRAM, but my 98 machine has only 2xAGP and barely discernable RAM and both look and behave equally well.

Another bonus: you can wall-mount it. If I had a shrimpy desk, I sure would. But as I have oodles of space to fill now, I just keep it set back on my vast desktop.

Overall, I highly recommend this monitor! I can't give it enough praise. The only criticism I can muster is that Neovo isn't marketing it as aggressively as they should. It was hard to find. Various websites (as well as Neovo's) have some conflicting data regarding its response rate and DVI capability. But I have to say that this easily lands in the 10-15 range as opposed to others out there at 25. If you can find one, you won't be disappointed.

5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Amazing
I got this monitor yesterday, and I'm already in love with it. When I first plugged it in, I could barely look at it on 100% brightness . . . now it's on 40%. The colors are as vivid as could be. Initially the text on the right side looked blurry, but then I realized that it didn't support 1268x1024 at 70hz--so I changed it to 75hz and it was perfect. I've really only noticed ghosting when I quickly scroll a page (especially a webpage with white text on a black background), or when I scroll to the sides in a Real Time Strategy game. However, I watched Terminator 3, and the only ghosting I could see was when Arnold was swinging from the truck, and his dark clothes went across the sky quickly. I played a 3D FPS, and it was perfect. ...

5-0 out of 5 stars If you're looking for a 19" LCD, buy this monitor!
This is a great monitor. I bought this for my office and the difference between my 17" crt and this one is like night and day. The setup was so simple....push a button and it automatically sets the contrast and brightness. NO MORE EYE STRAINING. 5 stars to AG NEOVO!

5-0 out of 5 stars If you are reading this, you found your next monitor...
Very nice monitor. This has all the features: good brightness, contrast, dot pitch, dsub+dvi, 3yr warranty. It is also is wall mountable and has an anti-glare coating- not many are anti-glare, especially at this price. Mine came with a DVI and an L-shaped VGA cable. No dead pixels either.

This deal blows away any retail 19" deal. I spent too much time looking for an LCD, and luckily I found this one before spending more or getting less. I don't usually spend time pumping up consumer electronics, but if you wound up here, this is the one to get.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Monitor at reasonable price!
This is possibly the best monitor I've ever had. I liked it so much that I've actually bought a 2nd one for my other computer.

When you get it, you do need to play around with the settings to adjust it to your comfort level (when it arrives, it is at full brightness level, and has some pretty weird settings). After adjusting things, it is the best monitor out there!

Oh, and I play LOTS of QuakeIII, and I didn't notice any issues that people were talking about with LCD monitors. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Buy Quality
I work out of my home with my own business so imagine my "surprise" when my former 19 inch flat screen CRT went out on Monday morning. In these last few years I learned the hard way that with computers and add-ons it pays to buy good equipment. I needed a new monitor and FAST! Since I design graphics it had to be good. I ordered this with 24 hour delivery.
It came on time and it worked out of the box in less than 5 min. The color is fantastic...the monitor was expensive but I'm worth it.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great look in more ways than one
Boy, does this monitor look good. In comparison to all the other LCDs I've seen, this one ranks at the top. There was no problem with set up or any aspect of operation, all the pixels work (no need for tech support), and the pre-set color temps are probably going to be adequate for all of my needs, so it seems great! The slim bezel, I feel, is a superior look too. I installed it on a win98 machine then upgraded to XP and the cleartype works best. In short, it works as advertised, a quality product.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very sharp picture, No more eye strain
I purchased the Viewsonic 19" ThinEdge as an external monitor for my Toshiba Satellite notebook computer. I do not currently have a digital port on the notebook computer, so I can only provide feedback on the analog video signal. I must say in analog mode that I am very impressed with the vivid colors. The 600:1 contrast ratio really makes a difference as you see contrasts in images that aren't noticable in older monitors. I never expected a monitor to be so great.

The monitor is not the biggest at 19", but the best value as the 20" is significantly higher in price. This is also one of the newest monitors from ViewSonic as it came out onto the market in April 2003, a month earlier than when this review was written.

The only issue so far is that with all notebook computers, the driver installation was not straight forward. I had to set up an additional hardware profile, one for home display and the other for the built in display for mobile use.

This monitor does not come with built in speakers, its functionality is in the monitor itself. You have to buy external speakers, which is probably good as we all complain about the quality of the built in speakers that come with most monitors. ... Read more
